I agree with these last few statements this is all smoke screen to delay the gruden deal so that he can get paid by tb and possibly finish out MNF.

To those who think a coach doesn't want to come into the sec, your an idiot. Coaches are some of the most competitive beings on earth and where else can you say you competed with the best there is?

Not that he doesn't want to compete in the SEC... it's just that UT can't at this point. They are quite awhile away from competing with the cream of the crop. Ask Notre Dame if they'd rather be in the SEC or be on their own... or USC in their conference.

    ..Meh.

Auburn came out of nowhere a few years ago. It only takes one good recruiting class to turn things around.. it doesn't have to be "a while" to compete. And it doesn't take a while to fall off the face of the earth either.

    Ask Auburn again.

If UT can land Gruden, great for UT. I don't think it's going to happen. As we've seen with the Dooley hire, and now with the rejection of other coaches... UT is not a hot job. Any program that would turn the reins over to Lane Kiffin is definitely not one you can trust.

And BTW, if I had a favorite NCAA football team, it would be UT.

I think their best bet is to get a young up-and-comer, and hopefully he pans out.. Dooley was not much of an up and comer, and nobody was shocked when he sucked.

UT should try to take the last spot in the ACC. They might actually have a shot.

Think what you want. UTjr would make it to a BCS game in the ACC and rekindle the magic of the prior millennium. It's kind of like the LeBron situation from a few years ago.. Why stick around people who you can't win with?

Once you are an SEC bottom feeder, your school is doomed for several years. Tee Martin and all those NFL caliber weapons ain't walking through that door anytime soon and UTjr will always recruit worse than atleast 5 teams in your conference because of their location. Peyton Manning was a god send for you even though he couldn't even beat Florida. Without Manning, the team would be fairly irrelevant kinda like Harvard and all of their NCAA Football National Championship Trophies.
