GREEN BAY, Wis. Quarterback Jake Locker struggled throughout the 55-7 loss to the Packers.

He was off-target most of the game. He was also a sitting target on many plays because of a makeshift offensive line that couldn’t protect him.

Yet the Titans never considered benching Locker in favor of veteran Matt Hasselbeck. The thinking was Locker needed to learn from the experience.

“Jake needs to grow through these things,” offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said. “The situation against Houston, it’s the same thing. It’s part of being a young quarterback. How you respond is how your teammates are going to look at you.”

Locker was just 13-of-30 passing for 140 yards and was sacked seven times by the Packers. He was sacked six times by the Texans in a 24-10 loss on Dec. 2.

“Jake is his toughest critic,” Loggains said. “And that’s the way it should be. We drafted him for that reason.”

Locker is 3-7 as a starter.

If Jake is his toughest critic, Jake needs to talk to JCBrave. He'll try to convince him that he's good.

Ouch.... At least VY had the "he just wins" thing going for him.

I didn't think it could possibly be worse.

VY made us a laughing stock... But now we're not even worth laughing at.

Dowell Loggains, Jerry Gray and Mike Munchak. What a circus. Three guys that would never even see a coordinator position under Fisher are leading the Titans.

Not benching Locker was the right call. Obviously there was no point in playing Hasselbeck. And sorry, but Rusty has no future with this team, he's merely a roster spot. AND as much as we want to give up on Locker, we're going to give him at least one more year, so why not leave him out there and see if he can get get back up after getting his ass kicked.

    A different point on Loggains:

Hes a young up and cming coach, well liked annnnd whatnot.

Also inexperienced and overloaded. He has been a quality Qb coach for years, but we increased his wrkload midseason and asked h/im to chang what he could andncall plays for the first time with someone elses system As a result, both have bee lacking for weeks. We mightve been better served waiting to fire palmer in the offseason. This might hurt his career.

Agree. At this point getting Locker more game action is the right call. In saying that, he has a lot to prove next year. I hope I am wrong, and he is young so I might be, but he kind of looks to have bust material written all over him. He has shown no improvement at all throughout the course of the year. He needs to get it done next year and show something for sure.

VY won the games he was supposed to win. Jake Locker loses the games he is supposed to lose. It might have been ugly but this is what happens when you have a raw QB and a sub par coaching staff. Not sure what people are shocked/upset about?

I think people are upset about the raw qb and the sub par coaching staff.

Locker also loses the games he's not supposed to lose. He loses most games, in fact.
