Matt Ryan didn't lead that team into the playoffs just like VY didn't lead us into the playoffs in 07.

McNair was hurt a lot. Some would say we have not had stability since:

How long did it take Drew Brees to become one of the best ever?

Ok so some of you just think its a coincidence that Jake has gotten worse as the oline has gotten worse? The oline has 2 jobs to do, keep your QB upright and open holes for your RB. Have they done that even anywhere close to decent this year? I don't think so.

The only thing that scares me about Jake is that he's going to get David Carr syndrome. This coaching staff and this oline need an overhaul big time if you want to see any type of production. You're not going to be successful as a QB if you have someone in your face all the time and no run support. Even Bud freakin Adams said that after he turned off last weeks game.

I agree that Jake hasn't been perfect but really, you guys are ready to say lets bring in some scrub like Alex Smith or tank for Manziel? If QB was our issue I'd agree with you that a replacement should be found now but Jake has been dealt a serious **** hand and I can't think of too many QBs that would do any better. Fix the oline, fix the staff, get us someone at HC that has an IQ higher than that of a rock and I see this offense being a top 10 unit easily.

I do hope for Jake's sake they fix the line and get things straightened out on offense.Yes just thinking of David Carr makes you shudder as we definitely do not want Locker subjected to that kind of brutal punishment. One of my main fears is the defense gets fixed and we get back into the top ten defensively only to have all kinds of problems and issues on the offense including a horrible line which should not happen considering we have one of the best lines year in and year out.

Wait... Steve McNair was a "stable" QB?...

Wow, our fans have the worst memories.

And for the Jake apologists -

they used that same excuse for him in college, too (O-line)... yet, o-line has nothing to do with missing wide open WRs when you have plenty of time.

He simply doesn't have it. Move on.

    It sucks.

From 98 to 04, McNair had an career QB rating in the high 80's, which is considered very good during that time. QB's weren't throwing for 4000 yards left and right back then, dude. If you were throwing for 3000 yards, 20 TD's and close to a 90 QB rating, you were at least a very good QB when McNair was playing.

In those 6 seasons, we also had 4 playoff trips, 3 division winning seasons and a SuperBowl appearance. That is more than stability at QB.

He certainly was a stable QB. Though he was not elite. Probably because Jeff (There is nothing wrong with punting) Fisher held him back. Still not elite. We have not had an elite QB since Warren:
