Not a whole lot out there at TE that's really an upgrade over Cook but Walker from SF would be cheaper and he's a pretty versatile player.

Cut Hass, he's regressed big time and I rather bring in a guy like Chase Daniel to compete with Rusty for the #2 spot.

Amano/Hutch is interesting. Hutch may just hang it up if he can't fully comeback from this injury and if that's the case I say keep Amano and put him back at Guard where he belongs. If Hutch is good to go cut Amano.

Babs and Hawk need to go.

CB is a deep position in free agency, I wouldn't mind bringing someone in and moving Verner to the slot.

As for Safety I'm staying on the William Moore bandwagon. I'm not sure if this is still the case but the Falcons had like the least amount of cap room available near the start of the season and they may not be able to afford keeping Moore. Byrd probably gets tagged, Goldson would go back to SF, and Reed stays.

Falcons need to lock Brent Grimes up to a long-term deal, so that may impact their ability to retain Moore.

I want Louis Delmas at Safety. Lions also have to deal with Chris Houston and Avril, who both are out of contract, and I think Delmas has more versatility than a true SS like Moore.

Here's where I got the jist of my figures...I was probably off by a bit, but it's still clear that we'll have a lot of cap space even if we bring back a lot of our guys. Especially if we cut Amano, Hass, Babs, etc.

Did you just say KEEP AMANO???? CMON MAN!!!!

What we could do is cut Hutch if we decided to bring back Velasco...

    That's 2012 numbers, not 2013.

It also doesn't include the contracts of all the players on injured reserve (DStewart, Amano, Harris and Hutchinson).

I think after we make a couple more moves, we will be right around the $100m mark, which leaves us $21m to spend. Noting that only the top 51 salaries count, I think we can probably make a splash with 2-3 significant free agents under that cap.

How are signing bonuses added into the salary cap per year? Do they split it up per year or do they add it all on to that specific year? That's not the ony website I looked at for the figures..There was another one with 2013 salaries, but it didn't have every player on our team...I kind of used both, but I didn't really know how to add in the signing bonus part

Signing bonuses are generally amortised over the contract length, unless there are voidable years included.

For example, Hasselbeck got a $6m signing bonus on his 3 year contract. $2m would be assigned to each year's cap number in addition to his base salary. If we cut him after his 2nd year, we avoid paying his base salary for season 3, however his un-amortised signing bonus ($2m) would still count against the cap.

Wimbley for example had a signing bonus of $9m on a 5 year contract. After this season, his un-amortised signing bonus is still $7.2m. Cutting him would actually cost us "cap money" as we would need to eat the whole $7.2m this year (unless we cut him after June 1) and for him to play this season he will only count $5.8m against the cap.

I gotcha...makes sense...We'll have enough cap space to make a splash, regardless...I want Levitre, DRC, William Moore, a cheap power back and a big, cheap DT...we can upgrade center and linebacker with say Teo and Barrett Jones and then draft a safety in the 3rd to battle Griff and Landry for reps.

    Locker
    CJ/Mendenhall?
    Stevens
    Britt, Wright, Nate
    Cook, Thompson
    Roos
    Levitre
    B Jones
    Hutch/Velasco
    Stewart

    Morgan/Ayers
    Casey/Klug/Martin/Sopoaga?
    Wimbley/Ayers
    Z.B/Spoon
    McCarthy
    Teo/Spoon
    McCourty/Verner
    DRC/Verner
    Moore
    Griffin

Nasty...this team could actually make Munchak look good again I think...
