This is going off of their weekly analysis they post on their site for free. Idk if anyone here pays the 27 bucks for the whole shebang and if someone did, it would be awesome to see some stats in the front seven of our defense to maybe get some ideas of what has been working and what hasn't. Anyways,mi just compiled these from certain weeks that seemed like legit conversation points for us.

Defensive end Derrick Morgan was one of the most improved players over the course of the season. Over the first six games he had a pressure on 8.2% of his pass rushes. Over the last 10 games, he increased that to a pressure on 16.7% of his pass rushes. -- I wonder what the % of the most impressive DE was. JJ watt?

Tennessee Titans: Kendall Wright has an Average Depth of Target of 7.6 when lining up to the outside. That is the lowest for receivers who line up more to the outside than inside. -- I think this has to do with the fact he was being used to compliment the run game. And we tried to employ plays to get him the ball in space. However we sucked at it.

Left Tackle Michael Roos has improved as the season has gone on, allowing a pressure on one in every 17.8 pass plays over the first nine games, and allowing one in every 34.5 pass plays over the past five. -- we just need 4 more of this guy.

Tennessee Titans: On 76.9% of his pass routes, Jared Cook lines up in the slot, which is the highest rate for all tight ends. -- sooooo basically he's not a TE

Tennessee Titans: Prior to his injury, Jake Locker had an average depth of target of 6.6 yards. Since coming back from his shoulder injury, that has increased to 8.6 yards. -- interesting stat line... I figure this dropped off pretty bad as the year went on tho.

There have been 92 plays where the Titans have brought pressure in 2.5 seconds from the snap or less, which is third-most in the league. -- very highlightable stat line... Impressive but there is still problems on this defense so what is it?

Tennessee Titans: Only 35.4 percent of Chris Johnson’s 869 rushing yards have come after contact, the lowest for all running backs with at least 30 carries. -- 10 mil???

Tennessee Titans: Outside Linebacker Akeem Ayers has had 21 of his 30 stops come on first downs, which is the second most of all defensive players. -- bright spot on the D

Tennessee Titans: Defensive Tackle Mike Martin (3-82) has the second-most stops of all defensive tackles at 16. -- his reps faded down the stretch, I wonder why.

Jake Locker is averaging 10.4 yards per attempt when he is throwing to the left side of the field. On the other hand, he’s averaging 6.6 yards per attempt when throwing to the middle or right. -- every defensive coordinator knew this. Progressions with locker is still

Tennessee Titans: While there are twelve 4-3 outside linebackers have been thrown at more, Akeem Ayers has allowed the most receiving yards for a 4-3 outside linebacker at 164. -- early stat but strong side linebacker doesn't have the best coverage skills.

I love PFF, and always wanted to get a super membership so I could view all those stats. Never wanted to pay the price though.

I think Ayers would emerge as a 3-4 outside linebacker.

Almost for sure, it's what he was marked to be in the draft... He has been decent for us tho. One of the few parts on defense that I actually have hope in.

-This is why I'm wary of going DE in the 1st. Morgan stepped up big time and even though Wimbley's sack numbers were lower than we thought he still got pressure on the QB.

-Career in the slot, not a bad thing but yeah.

-We need depth at OT, Roos is still the man

-So why pay all that money for Cook? Got get a true TE that can be trusted to catch the ball when needed and can also block.

-I don't get that either, figured Locker would be around the same.

-A lot of pressure just couldn't bring down the QB as much as we hoped, sacks are a lucky stat so hopefully it improves next year

-Which is weird because in his best season CJ had more yards after contact than most RB's total rushing yards that season

-Bright spot on D like you said

-Yet Marks continued to get more playing time, undisclosed injury? Fatigue?

    -Needs to improve progressions

    -Welp

Yea I don't see going DE in the first unless we have to trade back. Which would benefit us more if we could pick up an extra 2nd

yards after contact is such a dumb stat. "contact" is considered getting a hand on someone.

CJ had the highest yards after contact in his best years, because he had a good offensive line who could move the line of scrimmage so guys were barely touching him at the LOS most of the time.

This year he had a terrible offensive line, so he was seeing a lot more "contact" before he got to the line. It wasn't guys barely touching him, it was 300 lb defensive tackles going unblocked and falling on him. Hard to get YAC with a crappy o line.

He's never been known for pushing defenders off of him, he's a speed guy, and that's where the stat gets deceiving.

While CJ definitely showed up more as the year went on he was also still getting hit in the back field a lot, so I have to agree. Not sure we are going to have that elite o line back in one off season and draft tho.

He's already emerged as a 4-3 OLB, he was in a Von Miller type role the last half of the season.

Nah, he struggles mightily with coverage in a 4-3
