This why we should draft Te'o. And move ayers to rush backer and third down specialist

Regarding CJ's YAC, the difference is that early in his career he was accelerating through a nice hole and wasn't being touched until nearly at full speed, where as now the first contact is often a D linemen who obliterated his teammate at the snap and has his arms around CJ before he can even get going. CJ is very hard to arm tackle at full speed simply because he's moving so fast. However, with his small frame, if he's not moving fast already, he's quite easy to arm tackle. CJ's tackle breaking is all based on whether he's been able to build up speed before being touched. He used to able to just fine due to solid O-Line play, but now, he's lucky to be on his 2nd step after taking the handoff before he's hit by a much larger man who just made CJ's teammate his b*tch at the snap.

3-4 olbs have less strenuous coverages. He could be rushing 3/4 of the time. Freeney is now an olb, ayers is better than he is in coverage.

Which is exactly why I said he'd excel in a 3-4. While he'll only be above average in our 4-3

I'm gonna run through some of our defensive players and high light them in the next post.

Morgan -- 9 sacks. 21 QB hits. 42 QB hurries.
    Wimbley -- 7 sacks. 4 QB hits. 47 hurries.

They both rank top ten in the league in QB hurries. It's safe to say... They arnt the problem.

Jurrell Casey -- 3 sacks. 3 QB hits. 7 QB hurries.
    Marks -- 2 sacks. 6 hits. 12 hurries.
    Martin -- 3 sacks. 8 hits. 15 hurries.

Now ill add a stat line for the DT. Snaps played.

    Casey -- 789
    Marks -- 691
    Martin -- 435

Why did Martin see less snaps when he produced more with less???

But frankly we are getting next to no pressure up the middle. The DT with the most QB hurries is Geno Atkins. With 49.

Martin ranks 18 overall with QB hurries. But they quickly get into the 20s and 30s.

A top end DT, that can collapse the pocket and get QB pressures would change this defense... Oh and giving Martin more snaps. He should be starting in comparison to our other DTs.

Rookie wall would be my best guess.

I agree. Maybe he had some lingering injury or something too. Don't know for sure. I do think he has very good potential though.

Based on the stats above... I think they just didnt give him enough snaps. Extrapolating his QB Hurries for around 800 snaps... I see an easy 25/30 hurries total. Maybe enough a couple more sacks.

He shouldn't be in coverage, do you see Von Miller ever in coverage? Ayers needs the same role as Von; but our DC is an idiot.
