Wimbley a good LB?????????? Honestly, I think we should consider cutting bait with him.

Wimbley would be a good OLB, he'll also be a better DE next year too so I don't mind him staying at DE, he gets double teamed every down for a reason.

So what exactly is everyone wanting from the 34 ? What's so appealing about it? Give me some reasons why you think it would work better. GO.

    It's a faster defense
QB's don't know where that 4th rusher is coming from
Since our pass rush is a silly joke, might as well use them to tie up offensive linemen since they can't touch the QB

Have you seen how slow the steelers or ravens are lately? The bigger defenders in the LB corps don't lead to more speed. And yes the confusion is one thing.

I've got some nice stats to prove otherwise on this. That its not the Line.

    Entire teams QB hurries -

    Titans - 168 - 44 sacks
Now lets do these more aggressive 34 teams

    Steelers 34 - 108 - 38 sacks
    49ers - 149 - 41 sacks
    Ravens - 156 - 45 sacks
    Cowboys - 141 - 40
    Packers - 149 - 51
    The mighty Texans - 165 - 49

What am I missing here? Thought these were more aggressive and that there was gonna be a difference against our silly d line...

IT'S NOT THE D LINE FOLKS! IT'S THE SECONDARY.

The line is getting pressure, the secondary is just allowing the easy ass throw for the QB to make. If the secondary holds coverage for another second on a third of those pressures we have double digit sack leaders.

And that also goes hand and hand with not having a DT that pushes the pocket. But I don't expect DTs to be "rush specialists" either. They are for run support and collapsing the interior pocket. If they do that, the QB can't step up, forces throws off the back foot. So on and so on. It's a domino game.

It is partially our secondary's fault we don't get more sacks, but thats on Jerry Gray. He's the one telling Verner and McCourty to line up in the next county.

If he's so set on playing all zone, it';s better to play zone in a 3-4, like you said, not like our line is getting to the passer in time.

The soft zone is the problem. Unfortunately, who's to say that that'll change in a 34 under gray?

It probably wouldn't, which is the point. If you're calling zone all day they're going to pick you apart. We might as well sell out blitzing or hanging back with 4 instead of 3 LB's. Not like the linemen are getting to the QB's.

I don't even understand why we run zone, yea our CB's are good but not great, but zone is for older more experienced teams.
