Yeah. There were a couple of guys that I had forgotten about. Jeff Blake. Quadry Ismail was a receiver there and put up decent numbers.

This is a joke, right? Ten sacks and 123 tackles in three years from the DT position is solid production. He's one of the best picks Gene Smith made in the first round (although that's like calling him the prettiest pony at the dog food factory).

I would love to trade back a few spots and get Warmack. Hopefully in the 2nd round Matt Elam drops to us and we pick him up as well.

So based on what I originally posted, we don't really want that 10th pick, or do we?

I certainly am not impressed with the list of 10th picks since 2000, but if you consider other players picked at 9 or 11 then maybe we should keep the 10th pick.

2000 - 9th pick LB Brian Urlacher, 11th pick RB Ron Dayne
2001 - 9th pick WR Koren Robinson, 11th pick LB Dan Morgan
2002 - 9th pick DT John Henderson, 11th pick DE Dwight Freeney
2003 - 9th pick DT Kevin Williams, 11th pick CB Marcus Trufant
2004 - 9th pick WR Reggie Williams, 11th pick QB Ben Roethlisberger
2005 - 9th pick CB Carlos Rogers, 111th pick LB DeMarcus Ware
2006 - 9th pick LB Ernie Simms, 11th pick QB Jay Cutler
2007 - 9th pick RB Adrian Peterson, 11th pick LB Patrick Willis
2008 - 9th pick LB Keith Rivers, 11th pick CB Leodis McKelvin
2009 - 9th pick DT BJ Raji, 11th pick DE Aron Maybin
2010 - 9th pick RB CJ Spiller, 11th pick OT Anthony Davis
2011 - 9th pick OT Tyron Smith, 11th pick JJ Watt
2012 - LB Luke Kuechly, 11th pick DT Dontari Poe

History of the pick doesn't really hold weight. Just too many variables from year to year. It's nice to look back, and conversate about it but taking it as some written truth..... o_O

And if we're really that scared about drafting ten, just take Warmack. Safe pick.

I like having a top 10 pick this year, it'll give us a chance to get someone the coaches can't make from scratch, in other words, a great player that was born to play football.

I'm thinking an Eddie George type of guy, not some project like we've been doing.

How nice would it have been to get an instant starter these last few drafts... All we've managed to do is take guys who need coaching and time to become NFL starters.

Picking at 10 gives us an increased chance of getting one of these special players. We've got to get this right.

Yup. Most sites and draftniks are saying that Warmack is possibly the top player in the draft. But there is next to no chance he goes top ten... I think it would be an awesome pick up in the first round. Regardless of that stigma that we are over drafting a player. Last year I thought for sure we would take decastro... And was fully aboard that ship.... Left field comes a WR... Lol now imagine if we had decastro and this year we get Warmack?? Seriously one of the quickest paths to a top o line.

Well Michael Irvin did tell us 1 week before we took Wright that we'd be drafting Wright. So it wasn't the biggest surprise.

To me us taking Zach Brown was the surprise move of our draft, that to me came out of left field.
