I agree. What is so great about Frank Bush? And these decisions are not Munch's only Gray has major input into who he wants at LB coach and Munch and Webster are evaluating the team every day.

Lowry has me puzzled because Munch should have let him go as a holdover from the Fisher days. The only think i can think of here is that we kept him one year for financial reasons because he was under contract.

I still have not heard anybody on this board make a good case for keeping our OC. Everybody who endorses him assumes he comes with Tom Moore.

So our whole season is based on a special teams coach and a linebacker coach?

    Dumb.

Can we be clear about what's going on?

The coaches on the only productive units we had have asked to be released from their contracts so they have a better chance of landing a long term job. 25% of the coaching staffs are being turned over this year. They won't have as great a chance of landing a job next year. They are parleying this year's "success" into future security. Munchak is a loyal guy so he fired them.

What it tells me is that they also have very little faith Munchak will keep his job next year.

Until our coaching staff makes a quality addition or when Munch actually adds someone who can cover his areas of inexperience, I consider our chances as slim to none of getting to the play offs next season. There won't be the excuse that there were no quality coaches available for Munch to add to his staff . . .

The best draft in the world won't make a difference if you don't know how to use the talent.

I think that the real Music City Miracle is that Jerry still has his DC job.

    Still waiting.

Im not even trying to call anyone out this time, I want real opinions and thoughts as to why these moves were so bad. (something other than "our LB's played well")

    Okay,

Bush and Lowry getting the axe(or not re-signed) is not the issue.

The issues are the wrong positions not being addressed, AKA Gray. Honestly, I have been a pretty big fan of Lowry for some time, I would be upset with this regardless, and I think Bush did a good job with the linebackers this year.

Again, the problem is Munch getting rid of guys who deserved(arguably I guess???) to stay around and is replacing atleast one of them with one of his boys. The whole thing just stinks of the crap that got us into this position in the first place.

Thats not what I have been reading. I know you get my point.

This is what it is all about, so why do we have 10+ pages about a special teams getting fired?

Completely agree with your statement here.

The LB's played well, but thats only because they were the only bright spot of the team. They were out of position, and missing tackles on many occasions.

Drop Ayers into coverage, you see a different Ayers. Maybe thats something Bush could not help them with, so they want to get someone who can help them become complete linebackers.

Again, Im just speculating right here with you. its not like I know it all or that Im right

Look at the positive here..... After this season, Munch has HIS staff, that HE built, and that he had full time to try to rectify. If he blows it next season, the only argument that can be made for him is talent level, and he has plenty of chances to improve that this offseason.

Next year, its on Munch and he will either float, or sink.
