It's painfully obvious to anyone who's read all the information out there that he was in on it.

I've read it all I think. And I'm not sure anything is obvious, everything seems like it lacks sense. I don't think all the information is out yet, not nearly.

Either you haven't read it all, or you're the part that lacks sense.

There is video of Te'o saying that the support of his fake girlfriend's family was helpful to him. Support from who? How could be possibly be stupid enough to be tricked into not only believing that a person he never once saw in person or even face-to-face online (does Skype not exist in Te'o's world?) exists, but also that that person has a whole family that is somehow supporting him? Did the people behind the hoax hire a family of actors to play her family?

He was obviously in on it. He's trying to cover it up and play the victim, but the truth will come out.

There were multiple fake twitter accounts of the girl's brother/cousin. Have you read it all? He was involved in twitter conversations with these fake accounts. He said in his statement he was extremely embarrassed to admit he was involved in an online relationship which means he could have lied to prevent that detail from coming to the surface.

I think he was in on it too, but I've got no evidence to say it was painfully obvious.

This brings up3 important points I want to make:

    1) MEDIA: Please stop reporting on college athletes personal lives. For example, I don't care about Peyton Siva's Dad or Manti's Girlfriend even if she was legit. Last year, when Louisville won the Big East basketball tournament in Madison Square Garden... They take the mic directly over to Peyton Siva and ask him about his journey from "Talking his dad out of suicide to winning the Big East Championship." I mean, WTF? You wanna remind him of the worst moment of his life at the top moment of his life? Let the kid enjoy it. If you saw the clip, you saw the kids face change immediately when it was brought up and he classfully shrugged off the question.

    2) Emotions: The media LOVES these stories because it brings in a broader audience. If you are ever on TV, they ENCOURAGE drama. They want you to cry and melt down. Isn't that what we all like to see? How many videos of meltdowns turned viral on youtube? Let's not be dumb enough to donate to charities because of some punk kid/college player hoists the flag of the charity. Lets stay true to the charities that help the ones out who we know and love before donating to some cause because you want to seem loyal to your school or you saw it on TV.

    3) Relationships - If you can't have sex with someone on a somewhat regular basis, you aren't in a relationship. You're just friends who talk a lot regardless of what you call yourselves.

Before we all jump to the conclusion of him being part of the hoax, it's perfectly and logically plausible that he was the victim as well. His story was consistent from the beginning wasn't it? Maybe he really did meet someone online, established an emotional connection and fell for "her," and fabricated some parts of the story 'cuz he was embarrassed about having an online girlfriend.
