But yes stopping him from getting tramples by large lineman would help. But it wouldn't fix his own problems.

I agree he's an injury prone player but what I'm saying is McCarthy would be a little bit better if he wasn't in on every play and didn't have to be at the line as much. He gets abused pretty easily. The more I think about it the more I just want him to be a utility guy for us, he can't hang for a full season. If Te'o wasn't trying to hug his girlfriend every play against Bama and was sure Titans would look elsewhere I would still want Te'o but maybe we grab someone in the mid rounds.

Whoops missed this one. Yeah the guy has been battling injury issues since college, is some due to size? Yeah but that's not everything. I hate when people say well anyone is injury prone in football, no, he's not durable and he's not tough enough to plug in our MLB spot for the next few years. Solid player but looking back way overhyped on here based off a pretty good rookie year. We just need to re evaluate what we honestly expect from him.

I wonder if Colin will pull a hamstring in the offseason.

Has nothing to do with his size. He's normal size for a MLB. WTF? So you're telling all of us Kenny Britt should put on weight as well?

He's just at 6'1 and probably 235, I like my guys in the middle a little bit taller and bigger. Just for comparison sake Te'o is an inch taller and 20 pounds bigger. Alec Ogletree is about the same weight but 2 inches taller. Kevin Minter a guy I like as well is the same height but 10 pounds heavier already. The guys haven't even hit an NFL work out program yet and they're already bigger and his size has nothing to do with it? He's always injured, he hasn't shown us that he can be a dependable player for us. Good player but will always be on the injury reports.

Like I said, you keep him clean and he won't get as banged up, buuuut this is football we are talking. And also MLB. THE EQUIVALENT OF RB. His size isn't the problem. His durability is. You could add 30 lbs to him and three inches and his history of being injured is still present. He's naturally easily hurt.

You have these compact RBs that take a smashing consistently and get back up and go it again. Look at CJ for example... His height has zero to do with his durability. however you can argue his technique of not taking full on hits has something to do with this but still, he gets hit just as any RB. Hardly ever hurt.

Ray rice... 5'8 ? 220 ish? Never hurt. But if he was 6'3 -255 he would be even less likely to get hurt? Says what?

RBs can NOT be injury prone. Otherwise they get smashed and never see the field. Unfortunately this has a lot to do with genetics people. Not the size of the player. Yes, a 150 LB 5'6 guy is going to get destroyed...HE IS TOO SMALL. But once you get to this level of play, professional athletes, you are talking a different monster all together. 6'1 235 cat... Totally acceptable to play MLB.

Rey Lewis... 6'1 250... So 12-15 lbs on McCarthy should make him iron man....

You're comparing Colin McCarthy to a hall of famer? McCarthy's size is totally acceptable but being a little bit bigger wouldn't hurt. McCarthy is always injured so is he really that injury prone? Some of it is his size and some of it is just bad luck. Bottom line, like I've been saying, he's not the franchise MLB we were hoping for no matter how you slice it.

McCarthy isn't physical enough and plays soft. He's no where comparable to a Ray Lewis type of player. Also I'm pretty sure the better players at MLB with comparable size have a lot more muscle on him, I would've never guessed that he's near the same size on paper as a Lewis or Willis but watch them on the field and he's totally different. That's my point, he doesn't play like he has the adequate size, he plays small and that gets him injured.

You don't see many successful RB's taller than 6'1 or 6'0, Adrian Peterson is the only guy I can think of and he's a freak. Low center of gravity helps RB's, MJD for example. They're balls of muscles running at people. RB and MLB aren't very comparable, that's like comparing CB and WRs.
