I could even see #18 Dal, #20 Chi, #22 St. Louis looking hard at Cooper.

It is unusual to have three OGs with legit 1st round grades in a draft. But it also does make it possible one will be there when we pick. With the OTs and a strong cast of 1st round DL guys someone is going to drop and most of the time if you want to guess it is the OG or C who does. So even if we ignore OG with our 1st and take stud DL guy we will have something to pick from in the 2nd. Even if it ends up being Barrett Jones.

I like the idea of getting a quality OT who can play OG if there is one that fits the mold. We can put the guy at OG but later move him to RT or LT. But the problem is some of these OTs are getting a little on the tall side for an OG. But Fluker is 6'6 which isn't too big and he weighs 350 pounds. So I don't see why he couldn't play OG and in fact he might ultimately be an OG in the NFL anyway unless he drops some weight. He is a power grader run blocker. CBS has him rated as the 29th prospect but with the before mentioned OGs and a numebr of OTs ahead of him he could easily drop. So we might have one of the better OGs and Flucker to choose from.

Lane Johnson is one of the taller Tackles with a 1st round grade who I think could do well as a Guard early in his career. He's fast and gets low, exactly what Guards need to have to win in this league.

I haven't watched enough Buffalo Bill games to confirm, but this is what scares me about Andy Levitre: (from ProFootballFocus.com)

    13. Buffalo Bills (4)
    PB – 5th, RB – 21st, PEN – 26th
Stud: Although the star of the unit is Andy Levitre (+17.2), we can’t be the only ones that would like to see him do a little bit more in the run game.
Dud: The only player on the line to get a significant negative grade, Erik Pears (-7.3) ended his season on injured reserve watching Chris Hairston make a pretty convincing claim to his starting spot.
Summary: The line got more praise than they deserved for the ridiculousness of C.J. Spiller and his ability to make a lot out of very little. They did, however, hold up well in pass protection, providing one less excuse for the play of Ryan Fitzpatrick.
So will he be able to help in the run game or not? I don't want to sign the best free agent guard if he can't help us in our area of greatest need: Run Blocking.

And just in case you were wondering:

    14. Tennessee Titans (6)

    PB – 6th, RB – 18th, PEN – 22nd
Stud: Football is a funny old business. Michael Roos (+27.8) had his best season in a fair old while, yet nobody is talking about it. His work in pass protection is what makes him a top tackle.
Dud: Sometimes switching positions can really hurt a player, and so it proved with Leroy Harris(-7.2). He gave up 14 quarterback disruptions in 2011, yet a year later would give up 19 in half as many games.
Summary: If you were to describe the Titans’ line as a quarterback’s best friend, and a unit that had a rocky relationship with their running back you wouldn’t be far wrong. The investment in Steve Hutchinson was a bad one, though Fernando Velasco proved himself an upgrade at center. As ever though, the tackles personified this line. Excellent in pass protection and very ‘meh’ in the run game.

I like the idea of adding Levitre who is a solid all around OG with a mauler like Warmack, Warford, Fluker, or Frederick.

I wonder whether Levitre's asking price will be lowered by the solid depth in the draft. Teams might decide instead of paying him top money they will just grab one of the plug and play OGs in the draft.

The top FA guards have been hauling new contracts worth about $6M in base salary annually. LeVitre will get that, however, if Hutch retires, we save his $4.8M, which makes LeVitre very affordable the first year. This does not take into consideration signing/roster bonuses. Also, as it stands right now, Amano is slated to be the 6th highest paid center based on base salary in 2013, making $3.7M. :disbelief: See ya bud. Those 2 subtractions from our roster will help pay for the top FA guard.

Taking into account Cap Hit for 2013, Hutch is $6.8M and Amano is $5.6M. I'm not sure how much we would exactly save by cutting Amano. I believe we get all of Hutch's if he retires.

What if Amano just goes missing? Would we still have to pay him...

Titans Eternal can we borrow your white van?
