I wish we had Kaepernick, but I seriously doubt anyone here wanted us to take him at #8.

Most people, including me, thought Kaepernick would suck.

31 other teams passed on him too. It happens.

I know I did. His release in college was ugly.

Referencing the 49ers is a legitimate comparison. We handed the job to Munchak, 49ers had open competition and selected Jim Harbaugh. They went DE (Aldon Smith) 1st round then QB 2nd (Kaep). We went QB (jake locker) 1st then OLB Akeem Ayers in the second. We could have gone JJ Watt (which I wanted when Julio was taken by ATL) and then traded up a few spots for Dalton or Kaep.

Jake Locker is playing as advertised. Anybody hoping he will transform into something more is making the same mistake over and over again. He is AT BEST a dink/dunk game manager. Great guy but average at best QB.

We also effed up our 2012 draft taking KW over D DeCastro. He miraculously fell to us and we take a short WR who is just OK fast but can run a crisp route. Stupid, stupid, stupid choice. Again- great guy but average at best WR.

Locker has needed to fix his accuracy, footwork, pre snap reads, etc, etc, etc. since his freshman year at Washington. People have been saying this kid could be special if he just fixes this or just fixes that but he's never done it. Fast forward to what's gonna be his 3rd year in the NFL and he's made the most minimal of improvements, and it's hard to believe it's finally going to come together after 5 years of static and unspectacular progress.

    Relevant user name.

Accuracy is something most quarterbacks can't fix. We've drafted two busts in a row, in the first round at the qb position.

We will see the playoffs in around 5-6 years at the earliest.

People once laughed at us for taking Steve McNair over Kerry Collins

Here's the thing though... Harbaugh was basically handed to the Niners the second he decided to bolt for the NFL.

They were his #1 choice if they would hire him. He wanted to stay in Cali.

I wanted him to come be our coach badly, but I knew it wasn't a realistic option.

Vince was a very accurate passer his last two seasons with us so I hope your not refering to that as his problem.
