You take the best player available at either of these posistions with the first pick; DT, SS, or OG/C.........Which ever one is the BPA at those posistions you take them!

If the question is truly "what is the biggest positional need?" then it has to be either SS or OG. These conversations automatically go to who we draft with the #10 pick which is really a different question all together. We have more talent and depth on the DL, both DE and DT than we do at OG or S. In fact, we could not touch DL in this draft or FA and could still be decent. We just don't have a difference maker right now. But we absolutely need both from a talent and depth standpoint need to find at least one OG fairly early in the draft to be a starter and a SS either draft or FA.

ONe could argue WR isn't a massive need either. But with our first pick I'd lean toward DL or WR despite either of those not being biggest needs just because we can get a difference making guy.

I'll be honest, I would rather see us take the best player available at #10, than to reach and take a guy that may or may not live up to expectations. If a guy who plays one of those positions is available when we pick, then that makes it a plus.

this year is different in the fact that this draft seems to be loaded with talent that are all needs for us. Maybe outside of defensive line help, and I think that is the reason the board is so set on us taking DL help at 10. I still think we go SS.

trade back, or we reach. Not exactly something we haven't done before. Besides, the Super Bowl wasn't even a week ago. 1 month ago Te'o was a lock for the first linebacker taken, now he may not even be the third. Plenty of time for imaginary girlfriends to pop up.

I dont see the corner, McCourty was pretty good last year, probably one the better players on D with Ayers and Brown. Verner, could use an upgrade but then again wasn't last year his first year being a full time starter?

I could see us trading back, maybe tossing up our 1st round pick for a 2nd and a 3rd?

I can see that also, so what I am really trying to say is we take a DB. I don't see us taking DL after signing Wimbley, drafting Martin, and trading up for Soloman. Then the general idea is we won't take a guard that early, probably go after one in FA plus we have Amano coming back. Which the front office will probably look as a good thing.

I really want Vaccaro, Rambo, Millner, or Elam. Leaning towards Rambo even though he is a FS. I would not be surprised to see us grab Millner at 10 then go with a safety that falls to the second, should still be some very good players. I would not even mind to see us trade up from our second to grab someone we may not think will make it.

Very good article. I did not read past this on Kenny Philips: "He may be injury prone but"

There is no "but" when it comes to being injury prone. The number 1 ability is availability. Does not matter how good you are if you are always hurt. Can't make plays from the trainer table. . . . Okay, enough bad sayings.

Like the Brandon Moore suggestion. He is a little older which means he should be had cheap. A little older is better than being injury prone. Also like the idea of upgrading MLB as we already have an injury prone player there.
