If I was Andy Reid and I thought Foles was the answer at QB I would offer my second for Foles and a third round pick.

At the same time. If reed doesn't bang the table for foles to go to KC... It's a bad sign

A bad sign for what? Not sure it means all that much if Reed isn't willing to pay out the picks demanded. Even though Reed was his coach, knows as much about the kid as anyone in the NFL the kid was only a rookie last year so even Reed isn't going to trade his draft way for the kid. I'll assume Reed isn't going to get a better option at QB with the 2nd round pick in the draft (rather have Foles than anyone drafted there unless Barkley or omeone drops) AND that there is no QB Reed wants to use the 1st pick on so I think ithere is a good chance Reed deals his 2nd. His best bet if I were the Chiefs is to trade out of the 1st pick, maybe twice like the Rams did last year and make the trade for Foles but you still have a pick or two in the 2nd round left.

I was just gonna say, they stole a pick with the Kolb trade. Combine that with a weak QB draft class, and yeah, they definitely trying to hustle some team right there.

I think after that slew of QBs who were essentially unproven but got huge deals and some even traded for on top of that - flopped - GMs are not as willing to pull the gun. And they shouldn't....

Its a whole different ball game for a QB when moving to new system and having D's game plan for him... And with the monster deals they are commanding now, you gotta know!

KC struck out with Cassel. Scott Pioli brought him along from New England. Are they going to let history repeat itself?

What does the Cassel deal have to do with this? If Reed thinks Foles is a better bet than anyone they can draft with the same pick then dang right you make the deal. There is no logic in your point. Can you imagine Reed coming out and saying, "well we really like Nick and want him as our QB but since this didn't work out with Cassel we aren't making the deal and will proceed to use a draft pick oln a guy we have no clue can play". The guy would sound dumber than a rock and would be on drugs.

By the way, Cassel went to the pro-bowl his first season with the Chiefs and they won their division. But the part about the Cassel deal that is most different is that Cassel was a FA (NE franchised him so they could trade him) and the Chiefs had to pay him a contract at 10 mil per year. If Reed trades for Foles he won't have to change his contract so the pay is going to be cheap. The worst that can happen is the Eagles miss out on a draft pick. But if you draft a QB that happens all the time anyway.

I hope for Andy Reid's sake it does work out. Coaches have regretted clouded judgements of players before. And other coaches. Andy Reid is the same guy who thought an OL coach would make a great DC.

Huh? Reed easily knows more about the kid than any other HC in the league. He's seen him practice, seen him throw. Most likely has an idea of his ceiling. If he thinks he's a winner, he would go after him for sure. End of story. If not, I wouldn't bet the house on his success with another team. If reed thinks he's a medium/bottom tier QB then he probably doesn't bother.

Much like what happened to Matt Flynn in Green Bay, offensive coordinator gets the HC job in Miami... He drafts his guy and Seattle picks up the big Matt Flynn contract... Russell Wilson gets drafted in the third and beats him out for the starting spot. The fact that his ex O coordinator didn't want him said all you needed to know.
