Let's hope the Raiders or any other scrub team don't buy into this dude.

    Thanks for the research.

I honestly don't know what some fans do on Sunday.

We need to keep him if for nothing else he is a beast in Madden. Just played my friend and Cook had 8 catches for 91 yds and 2 tds. In all seriousness though, I want to see how he does with a different TE coach and a different OC mostly. Palmer had no idea how to use him and it was too far into the season to change enough up to get him more involved. Use the franchise just to see if he can realize his potential. There are many worse TE out there, and his potential is through the roof.

If we knew he was going to be available in March Justin Keller would be preferable to Cook. He is just about as fast but can actually block like a TE.

Keller has averaged 48 catches a season with a horrible QB playing for the Jets.

People say it doesn't matter if Cook can block but that is stupid. Cook's skill set is first rate for a TE not a WR.

I would have a real TE who is an exceptional receiver like Dustin Keller or Greg Olsen than Jared Cook who is a glorified big WR. The Panthers got Olsen for just a 3rd rd pick.

Take away Cook's rookie year and he has averaged 40 catches a year. How is that exceptional? Any decent slot receiver will give you 40 catches every year.

Ive watched a bunch of Panthers games the last 2 years and in no way would Olson be good for us. Id rather stick with Cook and his hefty price tag honestly.

We already have Stevens and Thompson so why do we need Keller? Cook had as many catches as Keller and he didn't exactly have Manning or Brady throwing him the ball and he wasn't on the field but 1/2 as much. Keller is a guy who takes almost 100% of the snaps so his stats are pretty pedestrian. Olsen was let go by the Bears for only a 3rd round pick because he couldn't block either and his contract is close to 6 mil a year. Yea, the Panthers traded a 3rd round pick for Olsen, paind him ~6 mil a year and basically have a guy who is not much different that Cook. By the way Cook in Carolina would be a beast and certainly put up similar or better stats than Olsen (who also plays close to 100% of the snaps). Olsen has never come close to breaking 1000 yards, only has a 10.9 YPC average and is probably one of the most over paid guys in the league. All I'm asking for is to franchise Cook for this year, see how he does in the new offense (while Thompson develops) and then re-evaluate.

When you put the number up it really speaks volumes. Do we really think Jared Cook should be counting that much against the cap?

I didn't say to get him he is not available.

Olsen sucked last year to the tune of 800+ yards. He has averaged 51 catches a year.

Fred Davis is another real TE with a first rate skill set as a receiver. He's coming off an achilles and i'm sure the Skins will find a way to keep him but of they don't he will be an UFA. Davis had 69 catches in 2011.

People act like Cook is the only TE sized guy who can run fast or produce. He is such a iability as a blocker that they don't want him on the field. That's his fault not the coaches.
