I'd freaking love to have him. He brings a whole new look to our CB's...he's super fast and he's 6'2. I forgot that he played college ball here so that makes me feel optimistic about it. Also, I doubt that he will get top money. The Cardinals traded him and picks for Kevin Kolb, and the Eagles are just letting him walk. He must not be as desired as we all think.

They're not letting him walk, they're just not using the tag. You realize, the tag is the average of the top five salaries at the player's position. Eagles just believe he's not worth Top-5 CB money, which is true... he's more 10-15 range.

The Cardinals traded him for their 'future' QB. He had a ton of value then, and so did Kolb.

He'll get paid. Elite CB money, probably not. Top-10 money, probably.

Dude, I called it when they made that trade that it was stupid.. Kevin Kolb ain't worth the charmin extra soft he wipes his butt with.

And no, I had no idea what a franchise tag was...you're so informative...thank you for enlightening me wise one....lmao

This situation reminds me of how we handled Courtland. We didn't think he was good enough to get 10 mil, but another team probably will. I have a feeling the same thing will happen with Sean Smith(the other CB I want). CB's just get way too much money in FA. That's why I think drafting either Milliner or Banks in the 1st wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Xavier Rhodes in the 2nd would also be good.

I would love to have those three, but signing them would take just about all of our money. Thats not the titans style. We need money for draft picks, depth in LB, DE, S, guards, center, and rb. I also doubt we go with a second round S as a starter. Plus we dont, like to spend all of our money for future needs.

I agree that he'll be too pricey with more pressing needs on the roster

I can't see the Titans drafting a SS in the 2nd or 3rd to bring in as a starter. It's fun to talk about but in reality no one knows who will be available by then, that's too much risk. If we sign George Wilson then I see no problem going SS in the 2nd or 3rd and have him fill in for Wilson in a year or two but relying on a rookie to come right in and start isn't very smart.

Oh and yeah I would take DRC, we have money to spend this off season so we better use it. DRC is a good player that we could probably get on a 3 year deal and it wouldn't cost us an arm and a leg.

Don't forget either that part of the new cba is that teams have to spend almost all of their money of their salary cap without going over it. I think the % they have to spend is at least 95% of the cap if not higher. Just not sure if that part of the cba kicks in this year or not.

No, it wouldn't take our money. That's the thing. Canty won't cost that much. With proper cuts (Babs, Amano, etc) and structing deals properly we can easily afford them. Guards don't break the bank, unless you're elite... and Levitre isn't that. DRC would be the most expensive.

#10 pick will cost us around ~2mil, and every round after that is cheap. Resigning Velasco/Bironas should be cheap[er]. Witherspoon should be a vet min guy. Use a 3rdC or 4th on a LB. We don't need depth at DE if we take Tank in the 3rd. Guards/Center can be cheap as well, especially backups like Deuce and Matthews.

What's wrong with starting a 2nd rounder? We started Akeem Ayers and Zach Brown, both 2nd rounders, their rookie years...
