We're going to have a top 10 pick. I think if Jones is there its a no brainier. Dude can play C G or T on the offensive line, and is an NFL sized guy at 6"4' 305lbs. I just watched him manhandle Georgias defensive tackles all night. He could be the future of our OL.

Alabama's O-line couldn't pass block to save their lives tonight though...

Barrett Jones is the guy we need. Trade down and snag him. He's going to be a franchise center. We just signed a guard. We can DEFINITELY get him. Our interior OLine could be secured for a long time....

I don't see how this isn't our only option. Our biggest need is clearly OLine. Look how Kaep and Wilson and RG3 and Luck all shined behind solid OLines with good run games. That's exactly what we need. Our offense scored over 20 points only 4 times. That's piss poor. Good offensive line= drive extension=balanced offense.

Why would Jones do it. Velasco was very solid last year and if we get a G in the 1st/2nd round that would make our line a whole lot better than Jones.

Velasco is our Center and no way we're taking Jones in the 1st, MAYBE 2nd.

Jones is the most decorated offensive linemen in quite sometime. Won three championships, playing center, right guard, and left tackle. Compared to Bruce Mathews. He could be an anchor for 10 years. A versatile, technically sound, huge oline man.

Trade down to say 20 with the bears plus a second round pick. Get the 18th pick of second round from the bears. Take Jones 20th overall, have three top 50 picks.

I would much rather have Cooper/Warmack at 20 and I feel at least 1 will be available.

He's not a 1st round talent...he's going to be a good player but you don't draft just good Guards in the top 10. Also he's not going to wow you and hardly ever did at Bama, he's going to struggle against some of the better NFL talent who have more power or moves. He benefited a lot from the guys around him and even though he is a versatile player he's going to be an interior guy. Also given his style and from what I've seen he would probably be a better Center but we already have one in Velasco. I would take him in the 3rd if we haven't addressed the other Guard spot by then. Oh and when you hear people talk about Jones and how sound he is in both the pass and run blocking, that is true, but an issue with him is keeping with the block during the play (or sustaining it) and this is a noticeable problem.

You're overvaluing Barrett Jones a bit too much. He's going 2nd round at the earliest.
