I would rather see Kenny go before Nate. Really though what has Britt done besides get arrested?

This is purely a money decision, why else would you be willing to trade your most reliable offensive player.

Would hate to see Nate go especially for amendola.

He someone who will give us B-B+ wideout production with quality leadership. Unfortunately, he'll have to be replaced eventually, and its probably going to be before we're real competitions for anything significant. Sometimes, you trim the fat, keep the dudes you drafted, and find some younger, cheaper B-B+ talent. It's the unfortunate business side, because since he's been here he's been my favorite player. Especially after he beat the dropsies he had his first year here.

I understand trimming the fat but a B guy with leadership and chemistry with the team doesn't need to be replaced with a C guy with injury issues and no chemistry. We already have to many injury prone guys on this team.Britt, Locker, McCarthy, half the o line. I just don't see amendola helping us besides maybe freeing up a small portion of cap space if we deal Washington.

I've been loving our moves so far. But this is the first one I've strongly disagreed with. Sure he's not elite. Sure he probably makes a little more money than he's actually worth. But he's been the guy we can count on most the past few years. Britt is always injured or in some kind of trouble with the law. I'm a big fan of Wright and expect him to turn into a very good receiver. But if we're being honest he didn't show very much of it last year and it's basically just blind optimism at this point. After that we're talking D-Will and Hawkins.... don't make me laugh.

If everything goes right, then perhaps we wouldn't miss him much. But what happens if/when Britt is inevitably injured or suspended? Or if Wright doesn't make the leap to the next level? We'll be sitting there with a <10ypr guy and Williams/Hawkins/unnamed mid-tier FA as our starting WRs? No thanks. Give me Washington any day. At least we know what we've got with him.

Thats what you do, buy low sell high. That's how you move a guy. Trade him away just as he's peaking or declining, Washington is on the fence, so he's good trade bait.

Welker is a Tom Brady product. Why would we want another one of those? Why would we want another David Givens?

Also keep in mind that just because we are shopping him does not mean he will be traded

They're willing to trade him cause they've caught him smoking weed and isn't exactly the locker room presence everyone here seems to think.

In all fairness, we never saw Givens bc of that explosive knee of his. Must be something in the grass at baptist park.....
