Does Fitzy for Hass still make sense if we don't sign another free agent?

Every team Ive ever been on or around does push for their QB to be the leader, but some guys just aren't leaders. Or don't command the respect of everyone around them.

When I was playing our captains were always the guys others naturally gravitated to outside of football.

Our most passionate/knowledgeable players were almost never captains, it was almost a popularity contest.

Agreed. To be honest in my experience most QB's are immature man-children. Linemen, DB's, and LB's often make good leaders, RB's sometimes too.

I think Fitz is a solid leader. He is a Harvard guy who gets respect in a NFL locker room. Has to count for something. He has also had some real success. He has thrown for at least 3,000 yards in each of the last three years despite being one of the most sacked QBs and having only one good receiver to throw to.

Age, at the very least, put him over the top. I love Hass too. But how much longer is he going to be viable? We can count on Fitzy for a lot longer.

Like I said, even if he doesn't have great leadership skills.... if he wins games, WGAF?

That is a fairly good point, but based on what you hear throughout the league versus what you hear about Fitz, I'd say Hass has much more to bring leadership wise.

Regardless, that ship has sailed and if we have to see Fitz for 8 weeks or more it will be back to the drawing board.

Oh for sure. Hass has been to a super bowl. Fitz still has a lot to offer. His age is the big difference maker for me. He can be our backup for the next four years. Hass's ability could drop off this year even.

yea thats why I am not knocking it at all. Hass could have very well played his last decent year of football last year and frankly, its Locker's time to show what he has to bring. I really don't see Fitz as being anymore than to salvage a season incase Locker goes down.

You're right. That somewhat leadership/shltty play ship has sailed. (que Hawaiian music) La la la di, la la la di, la la, la la la la la di......
