HELL NO he's not a starter, quality depth guy at best. He's slow, only average strength, didn't start much til last year, he's literally just good enough to make a team, think Amano level but a little brighter.

A trash can with sand in the bottom can replace Amano.

This signing doesn't change my perspective on taking an OG early, we still need one Rds 1 - 3. I've been saying all along: DE, CB, OG/C in the first three rounds in whatever order. I still want Chance Warmack, Jonathan Cooper, Justin Pugh, Larry Warford, Barrett Jones, Travis Frederick, or Brian Winters on this team. Turner is nothing more than a "good enough" guy and really should be more of a depth guy than a starter. He got starts because Scott Wells and Harvey Dahl were hurt, plus there LG was "Shellie Smith". This guy isn't the answer, but he is GREAT depth and good competition in camp.

I don't believe we'll use the 10th pick on a lineman either, but don't let this signing fool you, Turner is nothing special, certainly not good enough for us to ignore the top Guards just cause he's here now.

We got George for 2yrs/4mil, and no we couldn't of gotten Ed Reed. The feelings have to be mutual, do you really think he would want to play in Tennessee? He took a paycut to play in Houston on a "contender"... even though we all know that the Texans won't win it all. :brow:

Here is the thing about drafting Warmack. We obviously have a need for OL in addition to things like DE, CB, S, ect.

The kicker for me is that Warmack is projected as the top talent in the WHOLE draft by a handful of "experts". If that is true, or close to true, I would not want to draft anyone else. He would be, by that definition, the best player available and I think we need to take that.

Another position might have more question marks or may need more immediate depth but I would rather take THAT in the later rounds then pass on a player that is so supposedly solid as Warmack.

So I just really think if Warmack is on the board its not a discussion. Now if Warmack is gone and Cooper is up there with the likes of Star, Floyd, Rhodes, Miller, and a top DE then that is were I think the discussion gets interesting.

BUT there's always a Guard like him in almost every draft.

We have a shot at getting a 6'7" 4.5 speed pass rushing beast with the wingspan and strength of Batman, how can you pass that up?

Think the next Julius Peppers or Mario Williams.

    Who is that pass rusher?

Well I don't know, people like to say good things about guards but have people really praised them in the past as much and as high as Warmack this year?
