Depth at guard is really good though.. We can get a solid starter or rotational guy in the second round. WR is a huge need, along with D-line, MLB, and DB.

I don't mind taking a dominate guard like Chance at 10, but Cooper has questionmarks. I'd rather us try to trade back later in the first to take Cooper, or upgrade a different position of need with our 10th pick. We also really solidified the O-line during the off season, so Guard isn't a huge need like it was a month ago.

I think we, myself included, have become a little too excited about offensive guards the past few months. Much himself said years back while OL coach that guard is where you put guys who are not good at the other OL positions.

    The OL pecking order: LT>RT>C>G

Sure Warmack might be a hall of fame guard. So what. We got two hall of fame guards on our coaching staff and neither led their team to a Super Bowl. We are better at guard now. It is not as high a priority.

And Buffalo is still not taking a guard in the first. No way that is happening.

There will be WRs better than Patterson every year. While there will always be serviceable guards available you can't count on guys like Cooper and Warmack coming out every year. People are saying Warmack is the best OG prospect in decades. Who is saying that about any WR, CB, or S? I can name at least 3 WRs coming out next year who will prob be better prospects than CP, name me the 3 guards who people are already calling pro bowlers? That's right, you can't.

Draft the OG even though it's not sexy. Solidify/establish your O-line for years to come and then draft all the damn CBs and WRs you want in the following drafts. Hell look at the WRs who will be free agents next off season if you wanna go that route. It's precisely that kind of short sighted thinking that led the Lions to take WRs in the 1st for 3 consecutive years. They have no rings to show for it and 2 of them are no longer in the league. Megatron is a beast but are you willing to wait the 3 years it took to get him?

An amazing, not decent O-line affects our team more profoundly this year than any damn receiver ever could. Protection will be better, CJ will be great, and our D can stay off the damn field. You can win championships with sub-par receivers, it's been done before. Can't do it without an O-line. Yeah you can get another guard in the later rounds but can you guarantee he'll be just as good? No.

Best OG, kinda like being the smartest kid in special ed.They are OGs, not OTs.

Despite my smarmy comment above I would be thrilled if we drafted Warmack. I do not see the FO doing it. We should be fine right now on the OL. Levitre and Velasco are young. Turner is certainly not old. And this year, in a make or break year for the HC and FO, they need to improve CB. By not going after a CB in FA they are tipping their hand. It is CB in the first.

I see where you're coming from I just disagree with your conclusion. They could be tipping their hand just as well and they could be thinking that they are set at the position. I just don't see any corners in this draft aside from Milliner that anyone could fall in love with. If they take Rhodes or Trufant at 10 i'll be disappointed but I could live with it. I would just have to trust that the FO saw something in them that I didn't. I just see all these corners as very risky and the guards as can't miss. We are one solid draft away from something special. Now is not the time to make risky picks. I know all picks are inherently risky but some more so than others.

I do think Chance will go ahead of our pick. Too many teams needing line help. The Browns have a great LT in Thomas so a great run blocking guard to play along side him would make sense.

Some mocks had chance going to the cards but they will take Gino smith for sure now.

If Chance goes before 10 and somebody takes Gino does that mean that Milliner could fall to us?

The bills would not turn down a shot at Gino if they think he is worth that pick kolb is only making good backup money. If they can still get that franchise guy they still get Smith.

And that isn't CP. Any vol fan can tell you as a WR he wasn't that great. Dropped a lot of easy catches and ran bad routes. His overall talent level is phenomal, but as an NFL WR he'll be a project.

Hunter actually has a better shot of being a No. 1 receiver, imo, and he'll be available in rnd. 2

I doubt they are "tipping their hand" by not going after a CB. We'll obviously take at least 1 CB in the draft, but the first pick will be BPA at G, DE, or CB. If they deem that player to be a CB then so be it. I doubt the have made up their mind already on who they are drafting

I can see Milliner being there for us at 10
