New Titans safety Bernard Pollard spent the last two seasons playing alongside one of the top NFL safeties of this generation in Ed Reed.

He says he sees similarities to the five-time, first-team All Pro in the player he’ll be lining up next to in the coming season, Michael Griffin.

“You look at Michael Griffin and he’s a guy who reminds me a lot of Ed Reed,” Pollard said during a recent phone interview. “When I was in Baltimore the last couple of years, they called us ‘get ‘em and hit ‘em’ because (Reed) would get (receivers) and I would hit them. (Griffin) is a guy who’s like that. So it could be a lot of fun.”

Griffin and Pollard won’t be the only safeties with plenty of starting experience for the Titans, as the team also signed veteran George Wilson, who started 55 games in eight years for Buffalo – including 29 over the past two seasons.

“This is going to be a lot of fun for all three of us to go out there and piggyback off each other,” Pollard said. “You look at (defensive coordinator Jerry Gray) and some of the different packages he has. He’s trying to bring the best out of every player he has. I think he’s going to go in every game this year using all his weapons and that’s a great thing.”

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Reed tackle people? Did reed have a nickname like "whiffin"?

    Nuff said.

That's funny. Griffin reminds me of a sick, tasteless joke.

If you put most safeties on an Island in the open field like Griffin is all the time. They are gonna miss some tackles. Griffin tackled much better this year. He played way better than he did two years ago!

Well when your put on an island pretty much every play because your line and lbs suck so bad its kind of hard to make tackles when a rb or wr is open in the second level. He made some big hits and forced some fumbles and blocked a kick this year. He did ok.

He made one single big hit this year. I remember it clearly because I was so amazed when I saw it I had to run to the board and post about it. It got like 5 thumbs up lol everyone else agreed. It's hard for him to make tackles because he takes bad angles on purpose to avoid having to pop someone.

He used to be a really hard hitter but he is either concerned about hurting someone or concerned about getting fined.
