I know with Greene we will not be taking a back in the first 2 rounds but i don't think any back is worth a top 40 pick.

Lacy's workout showed that he is not a top 39 pick. He was not in great shape which brings up more concerns about his ability to handle a full load as a starting nfl back. His 40 time was mediocre and he is not a good receiver and not good at all in pass protection. A good power back prospect but not a 1st rd pick.

Ball is an undersized powerback with a lot of mileage on him.

I think Bernard is the best RB prospect in this draft because he is versatile and had a great combine. Perhaps the colts might be looking at him in rd 1 but Mayock only has him ranked 4th.

    Agreed.

I would like to see a 3rd down back taken in the 5th or 6th round. Greene can't block or catch. CJ can block, but is a little shaky as a receiver, and I don't want to see him getting blown up by blitzers on 3rd and 14.

I still think that Zac Stacey could be one of the best RBs in this draft. He has a compact build 5'8" 216 and is quicker and faster than most people give him credit for. His 3cone time was near the top of everyone at teh combine. His shuttle time was near the tops of all RBs. He did the bench press 27 times which shows he isn't afraid to spend time in the gym and has great upperbody strength to go with his lower body. His 40yd time of 4.55 is plenty good. He has great vision and balance. He also produced running behind a sub-par Vandy line in the SEC. I would love to nab him in the 4th of 5th rnd.

What about Lattimore?? Could be a steal in the later rounds. Would have been a top 10 overall pick if not for the injury this year. Willis McGhee had major injuires in college and went on to have a very nice NFL career, so did Frank Gore. Gore had more knees injuires in college than any RB I can remember, and he is still going strong in SanFran. Lattimore's talent is off the charts, and we can steal him in the 4th round.

Lattimore is an interesting guy. I think a team with few needs and a bunch of draft picks like the 49ers might grab him earlier than you might think. If he is available in the 4th when we pick then I take a flyer on him.

The logic is there for 49ers, but they have like 4 RBs already, and just drafted LJames, last year. I could see the Packers taking him though
