I think this is next wildcat and teams will have plans for it. I don't mind trying it, but I don't see it being as effective as it was last year. It's pretty much just an option with a better chance to throw.

I wouldn't say its like the wildcat. Pistol is a little bit of a gimmick offense, but it can be effective. I worked really well for the 49ers. Im excited that they trying to make good use of Jakes skillset.

This is a start, now add a read option, and maybe some speed option stuff we did with VY.

At least 60% of our plays with Locker should have him on the move.

That is playing to your QBs strengths.

Jesus people. There is no gimmick in this situation. This doesn't need any freaking read option to be effective... This definitely isn't the f'in wild cat... It creates a shallow gun with the option of running power I. Means that traditional 3/5/7 step drops are easier on young qbs because they get it from near gun, do a two or three step drop and can release.

Essentially this relieves young qb foot work problems, read problems, as well as works for being able to do gut runs.

Gun runs are normally best as sweeps or delays... Completely different atmosphere. This ties together both of the most prominent formations into one very dangerous one. Also with THE OPTION OF THE READ OPTION.

Along with the fact that this formation has barely been tapped... We ran a wr sweep option play.. I'd never seen that one.

This is a great weapon for us to adopt for locker

I'm hoping it works because it fits Lockers game, but the wildcat looked unstoppable for a while until teams learned how to play it. I said I don't mind seeing how it works, but with so many other teams using it teams are more apt to game plan for it throughout the season and find ways to render it ineffective.

im sure this and many offenses ran now30-35 years ago would be considered a gimmick. its all a gimmick till it becomes tried and true over and over.

Have teams rendered single back or the I formation ineffective? Have teams rendered the shot gun ineffective??

I could go on a large, long winded rant but really....

We should really just go steal Pette Carols offense, its perfect for the personnel we have.
