Munchak headed back to Hall of Fame

    Titans coach Mike Munchak didn’t waste any time getting off the field after Saturday’s scrimmage at LP Field. He had a plane to catch.

    Munchak and fellow Pro Football Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews flew to Canton, Ohio, Saturday afternoon to attend the enshrinement ceremonies for the Class of 2013. Defensive coach Keith Millard also made the trip.

    Munchak and Matthews earned Hall of Fame jackets for their work as offensive linemen with the Houston Oilers. This is the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 50th anniversary.

    Former Oilers nose tackle Curley Culp is in the Class of 2013.

    “We have a guy from the organization going in, it is the 50th anniversary,’’ Munchak said. “Bruce and I thought it was important not to miss stuff here, but to represent our organization in Canton.”

    One of the reasons Mike Munchak is in the hall of fame is because Bill Parcells nominated him and spoke for him being elected to the HOF.

    Another reason why he went there was to congratulate Parcells.
