Titans coach Mike Munchak liked some of the things he saw in Sunday’s 30-24 overtime loss to the Texans, but he didn’t like the way his team finished.

Something else he didn’t like: the celebration after receiver Kendall Wright’s touchdown early in the game. Wright started a dance on his own, which is permissable. When receiver Kenny Britt and running back Chris Johnson joined in, however, officials flagged the Titans for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

“Kendall came over and apologized immediately,’’ Coach Mike Munchak said. “It is something that is unacceptable. It is a penalty and it cost us 20 yards of field position. They got the ball at the 40 instead of the 20 because of that. I know there is excitement after a score, but they have to realize the consequences … and that a group celebration is not allowed.”

Britt said Munchak and offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains talked to the players about it.

“It was just us having fun,’’ Britt said. “I guess we just got a little excited after (the catch). … It cost us some yards and we learned from it, and we have to be professionals and act like we’ve been there before.”

they need to know better than to do what they did. This penalty drove me nuts because 15 yards is a lot for a stupid penalty like this. I think and hope they learned their lesson!

I hate the "act like you been there" stuff.

They should be able to get excited and have fun. They just did what they've trained their entire lives for... on the largest stage possible. Why shouldn't they be able to do a harmless dance? What does it hurt?

Oldazz cornballs men making rules is the real problem.

they can do a dance but it can only be that person, can't be more than one player involved or it becomes taunting . what is stupid is these players KB and CJ should know the rules and know better! We are lucky the Texans didn't score off that drive!

The NFL forgot how people used to be glued to their tv watching Chad Johnson and Steve Smith because they wanted to see what celebration they would do when they scored. Honestly, people who otherwise wouldn't were watching the BENGALS and PANTHERS, solely to see an entertaining celebration. The people in charge of the NFL, just like most rich people are grossly out of touch with the common man.
