Titans coach Mike Munchak knows his team has to cut down on the number of penalties it takes, but the coach suggested Monday that officials missed some calls against San Diego.

Munchak didn’t mention any plays in particular, but it appeared that wide receiver Kenny Britt may have been interfered with on one play and wide receiver Justin Hunter on another. Both plays occurred in the San Diego end zone.

“I thought some calls were very questionable, more so some that we didn’t get,” Munchak said. “I think that’s more what it is. You’re going to get calls in a game, but just so you feel it’s happening on both sides, you’re a little more comfortable with everything. When it seems to get a little one-sided, it’s more nerve-wracking.”

The Titans were flagged for 10 penalties in the first half, but cleaned up their act in the second half, as they were penalized just once. Overall, the Titans have been penalized 26 times in three games, tied for fifth-highest in the league.

“We’re going to harp on them, going to talk about them, going to learn from them,” Munchak said . “We’re going to learn how to be smarter. We’re going to do all those things for sure. We can’t have those kind of penalties and win many games. We’re not going to make excuses for them.”

Just for the record, Justin Hunter did NOT push off his defender with the go ahead TD pass. You can make contact, however you cannot extend your arm creating distance between yourself and the defender. Hunter never extended his arm...if you look at replay, his elbow is bent. Plus Hunter never created any space between him and the DB, except when jumping up to grab the ball. Charger fans are just butthurt.

Munch is right about this..... I saw so many missed calls when we took shots at the end zone, and last time I checked I don't think you can hit or tackle a WR when the ball is in the air, that was a BS non call if I ever saw one

I think you have to admit that it could've been called. No he didn't extend his arms out but there was a lot of tugging going on between both of them and could've been called on either one. The ones in the first half should have definitely been called

    **** yea, Munch.

They're gonna be coming at your pockets, but you're loaded. You can handle it.

Keep dissing those garbage refs. Might as well go all in and say they suck.
