I think the best complement I can give is that Bud lived a truly full life.

Graduated with an engineering degree, served during WW2 achieving the rank of Lieutenant, formed and a ran a successful oil and energy company, and fathered three children. All of that plus forming and starting the AFL and owning and operating the Oilers/Titans since 1959.

Quite a life well led. We should celebrate the man's life, few will ever achieve as much as he did in a lifetime.

I admit I hadnt thought about Bud a whole lot. But he pretty much embodies what we all want to be someday. A stubborn old rich guy that gave no f***s. Did what he wanted, when he wanted, and wore some pretty ridiculous suites to match. RIP Bud, regardless of the politics involved you'll be missed!

Known Bud for 27 years. Didn't always agree with the old coot but loved him all the same.
Thank goodness for small mercies that the last QB he saw play for his team wasn't Fitzurnover.

See you on the flip side Bud......it's been emotional.

Trash talk aside for the moment to offer condolences to the Adams family. Never liked the guy but he brought a lot to football history in his day so respect is deserved. Weird that he passed so soon after the best damn football coach that ever lived, Bum. Almost like the old coot was just waiting for Bum to go before cashing it in.

    Cheers to Bud.

Looks like his two daughters and one son will share the franchise. How long do you think ownership will be handled by committee before grandson becomes the new owner/figurehead of the franchise and will he have the right supporting cast around him to make good decisions?

(Business talk here and out of the Bud memorial thread, please)
