I've never subscribed to the 'we need a rah-rah coach' mentality, we don't; what we need is a coach who knows how to get the best of his players and the worst of the opponents players. I haven't seen any evidence of that from Munch as a head coach.

no no.. i expect to win games. I am downright pissed about the loss yesterday. So much so that i almost ruined our sunday family dinner lol.

Almost there is NOT good enough for me. However, I can look and say that almost there, is a hell of a lot better than that big pile of steaming **** of a team we had last season.

Yeah but Locker was just hurt. There are better ways to be creative than an option run with a QB who had a hip/knee injury a month ago.

And some of the most winning coaches in the history of the NFL have been reserved on the sidelines.

Munch is a Hall of Fame OL who played with the same demeanor as he coaches. Same for Matthews.

Not sure what this means but Locker's game is compromised if he can't run the football. If he couldn't run, he had no business starting the game. Obviously, that wasn't the case. He just ran a QB draw for a TD the previous game.

His injury was bad luck. Just like his hit against the Jets.

I saw nothing to indicate Locker couldn't run the play. Did you?

I believe they are all talking from emotions. We are a steaming pile of **** team? Or we are an average team that has ups and downs, that looked like a steaming pile of **** yesterday? Obviously Locker and the QB situation is oen we need to worry about, but i felt and I still feel we are a team moving in the right directions. (with our without Munch as the coach, we are improving)

If we come out and put up a 30=3 win against the colts.. watch all of those opinions change. They change, week in and week out.

For instance, we were a BS call away from beating an undefeated team. We nearly beat the Seahawks at home, something that hasnt been done in a while. 49ers.... yea well they spanked us. They are just a much better team from top to bottom than us.

These people are "done" after every loss. They whine, they cry, they throw fits. Its just 100x worse today (deservedly so) because we should NOT have lost that game.... and the players of this team did just that. Everyone wants to put the blame on Munch, but as the Title of this thread states, its time we started looking at our "talent" more realistically.

"best talent on offense we have had in years".... and people still dont realize this is a myth. On paper, and potential, yes, it COULD be. However when they look at that paper, then look at the TV and see their team, they are all pissed off because paper lies.

Objectivity is something this board and most boards lack in general. They are dead set in their opinions and are passionate/emo/whatever about it. Facts be damned.

Has munch met the very goals he stated? Is he close?

The problem I have is related to accountability and responsibility. This franchise has NEVER won a Super Bowl. It hasn't won a playoff game in 10 years. It hasn't been to the playoffs in about 4 years. It has lost to the three worst teams in the league in the past year (2 were winless until they beat us AT HOME)

F*ck yes fans (especially those paying exorbitant tickets prices) are upset. They have supported this team here for over a decade and have very little to show for their loyalty. You dismiss their criticism as emotional and "whining" and view yourself as rational and even keeled. That's nice but the facts above remain. It takes courage to take chances and it sure as hell requires accountability to make progress.

Munchak hasn't achieved the own goals he set for the team. That performance yesterday was an indication of where this team is. You want to dismiss it as a bad performance or an isolated nadir in an undulating series of performances? I say BS to that. What game has this team won that equally surprised as did the performance yesterday?

Your "rationality" is better described as "rationalization". It is level headed to observe just what goals this team has NOT achieved under Munchak and Locker. And let's not overlook that Jim Harbaugh started the same year as Munchak. And john harbaugh got his team in the playoffs in his first year also. Coaches ARE capable of getting their teams into the playoffs QUICKLY.

but let's be so afraid of what change MAY bring so we rationalize not changing. Insanity is doing the same things and expecting different results.

Just WHO is responsible for the teams performance in your "rational" world?
