Ever not reached a goal due to things not working out as planned?

Agree 100 percent, and it sucks

We have taken chances. Chances that we did not see Fisher do in years as a head coach. We have gone for it on 4th and short more than I can ever remember Fisher. We have benched players that we never saw with Fisher.

This also isnt so much a Fisher vs Munch thing. However there are loyal fans that have been waiting 30 years for the same thing you are waiting for. And with other franchises, they have been waiting for the same thing. I do get your frustrations, and Im right there with you. However it seems as if I am able to brush things off a lot faster than other people.

I love football, I love my team. I watch, I analyze, and I critique just as much as any other fan. However, its a game. Its a hobby. Its not my life. If fans get so upset that they spend several days upset over a loss (which several here do, not saying you do), then maybe they should learn how to control their anger and frustrations better. If they get this mad over a football game, I can only imagine how people around them get treated. No, I am not saying people close to you get frustrated.

Dont want to waste your money? Sell your stuff? I know a lot of people who would love to fill those empty seats if they were affordable, myself included. The last 4 games I have gone to, we got our asses handed to us. I mean 30 point losses, and the game was not enjoyable. But I enjoyed the experience all the same.

No, I dont dismiss it, I just point the finger where I feel it belongs to be pointed. The last time this team won a game that surpirsed me equally as much, was when we stomped the Ravens last year (or the year before). The fact is, games like this overshadow that by a long shot. However as TJ stated, it happens all the time in the NFL. Do you know how many teams have gone and lost every game in the season? Very few (4 since 1960 I think??) Theres ALWAYS that one upset.. teams always win that are not supposed to, it happen every single week. It just stings more when our team does it. (and more importantly, when they do it AGAIN.....)

BB was a horrible coach, until he got a QB. Bottom line is we need one of those QB's to be the team we want to be. We dont need a game manager, although it would be nice. We need one of those "elite" QB's that every team in the NFL wants and until we get one, this is what you are going to get. We may slip into the playoffs on a wild card here and there, but we will not ever, EVER be that perennial contender that we all want to be.

As for being rational, I scoffed and laughed at people who actually thought we could go 11-5 and records similar to that. Those people live off of potential, not analysis. After the 2nd game, I knew this line was not what it should be and may not be this year. I was hopeful they would gel, and defended the fact that they could gel, but all you have to do is watch this team to see what it is.

I asked someone to name people worth a damn on offense the other day, they came up with 3 names and one of them was questionable. What do people expect when we have so few good players. They can be average, but we are not going to win with players like that. Munch, and the front office TRIED to fix that, and it hasnt worked out yet. It damn well better or we are in trouble for a few years to come.

Everyone keeps bringing up Harbough, does anyone really want to sit down with me an analyze their players, vs our players, over the past 3 seasons? First off, they had a QB that could stay healthy.

The one year we did have a noodle arm QB, we went 9-7 and damn near made the playoffs. Off of an old, aging, should be out of the league QB that still HAD A LITTLE LEFT. You are going NOWHERE, without a decent QB.

Just WHO is responsible for the teams performance in your "rational" world?[/quote]

who is responsible? I have a hand full of fingers

    Front office. Coaches. Players.

Its not one or the other, its the CJ vs the line argument all over again. ITs a combination of things but until we get players on this team that CAN win, no coach is going to do anything for them.

Look at the defense this season. Whats the difference between the first 3-4 games, and the last 3? Same coaches, same players, but have you seen whats happenign?

First few games = Oh you can tell that Willaims is all over this defense, look how awesome it is!!

Last few = Grey needs to go and Williams needs to be promoted to DC!!!

The hell is that? So people think Williams coached the first few games then Gray took over and it started sucking again?

Munch is average, and although ultimately responsible for what is on the field, theres a difference with criticism him, and using him as a scapegoat. I completely feel that if you ditch Munch right now, and bring in another coach, then the first thing they are going to want to do is make changes on our roster.

No one can just.. "make something good" that isnt good.

People wanted Munch gone at the end of last season. There are many more failures at new HC gigs, than successes. For every harbough, I can point out a few other coaches who have failed. Sometimes people hit a home run. I am all for a change, and hoping we hit one too. However there is a lot of blame to go around for what is on this team.

And Riverman, Slidepeace, and anyone who disagrees with me, its cool to disagree. I could be completely wrong. I just look at the whole picture and form an opinion, just like everyone else. Then I defend it with my reasoning.

There is a difference in "blame" and responsibility. I've had several discussions in other threads about this but let me summarize by saying the following. I don't care who is to blame. There are 1000 perceptions and responses to that question. I KNOW who is responsible for the teams's success and failure. The person getting paid for that- the HEAD coach. Munchak has NOT been able to oversee the improvement of the teams' performance. He ultimately is responsible - that is why he gets paid. If he feels it's the players then he is responsible to get that fixed. Not you or I. I don't feel sorry for him nor do I feel compelled to excuse him for whatever reason. It is HIS responsibility. I pay a lot of money for the season tic pix as do others. PSL''s ARE AVAILABLE if you are truly interested in paying for the crap product this franchise had fielded. Get some and then get back to me with your thoughts about tempered expectations. The fans deserve better than they've gotten from the entire franchise.

IMO, removing Munch tomorrow still leaves a team of players who didn't have enough heart to beat an 0-8 team.

I think we all knew it was going to be hard to get up for the Jag Rags with the Colts coming this week. And so fast. That is why it is called a "trap game."

    Amen !

Hard to argue this as well, however, ultimately the responsibility to get this team to achieve success (ie winning games and making it to the playoffs and advancing) is the HC and his staff and while there are some areas of this team that you can point to and say there has been some marginal improvement in, we are only one game better in the win column than we were last year at this point and that does not equate to success to me, not even marginal success. The fact that we played better and "could" have won the Texans, Hawks, Chiefs, Niners and Jags games is really immaterial to me at this point. We DIDN'T win those games so the fact that we played better and might have won "if this or that" hadn't happened is utter horses*** in the end. Bottom line, we are not much better as a football team than we were last year at this point and Munchak and his staff have to bear the responsibility for the lack of improvement.

To ignore that the Titans have been competitive in all but one game this season serves no purpose, IMO. This team has come a long way from those which were blown out multiple games last season. That doesn't mean that the improvement is enough for Munch to keep his job. We'll need the rest of the season to know that.

I don't see any good in firing him before the end of the season. Just right after it.

I don't get you; you say this, but earlier you said this,

Earlier you say that the players need to be held accountable, but you then scoff at the notion of taking CJ off the field for Shon Green and Jackie Battle. CJ's had ONE good game all season - he didn't get his first rushing TD until week 9!? He fumbles, he routinely drops passes, he goes down when a defender is within 5 yards of him. You're ok with that...?

If we're going to be the 'nose-to-the-grindstone' power running team that Munch has proclaimed, then a back like Jackie Battle is INFINITELY more suited to that style of offense than is Chris Johnson.

I mean I dont come to the board 2-3 days after the game with my panties still in a bunch.

This past week, I got pissed, really pissed. THen I went home, smoked, and was over it, then start looking at the loss for what it was.

Not sure what you are talking about. I am not a CJ fan, or defender. If you could quote what I said, I may be able to explain what i meant?

Battles a retard with no vision that has a few good plays that made us think he was something.

I have zero issues with Green getting the majority of the carries. Battle... hell no... HEEEELLLLL NO. Green.. hell yes.
