Rather take our chances on popping it in the air and having our players run like animals and try to dislodge the ball from the other team. Christ my 5 year old could field bironas's kick..

It's either inside the 20, a dropped snap or a shank off the side of his foot.

Kern has been awful this season.

The Oregon Ducks kicker needs to be brought in to teach Bironas how to do it.

Wasn't our special teams the only decent part of our team last year too? Damn they've been awful this year.

if that's the case with kicking then do we need to bring in MLB players to teach our QB's how to slide?? lol

For the life of me I don't understand why we try to get cute with our onside kicks every time. Has it EVER worked?

    Couldn't hurt.

From listening to discussions on the radio, this form of onside kick (side-spinner) is designed to roll slowly so the kicking team hits and knocks back the receiving team before the ball goes 10 yards.

Seem Bironas didn't care for the approach which indicates the special teams coach asked him to go that route.

Bironas on the radio last night sounded very pissed about it. He let it be known that it was not his favorite, but that it was the play that was called.

I first saw it done in high school and they just kicked it very slowly straight forward and their guys ran in fron of the slow moving ball and blocked the other team away from it and the kicker recovered it.

I still want to see a kicker to rare back and kick the crap out of the ball just right at a guy on the front line. Just a low screamer and see if the guy is quick enough to duck and get out of the way. If he isn't then it would richochet off him. Might be hard to have such good aim. but I guarantee a low screamer is harder to handle than that stuff we have tried the past 2 games.
