Adams was far from clueless. He just got old and wrong.

Why? I hate the things. I'm here to talk, not look pretty, awful, fearful, or any other silliness. I'm too old for these useless things. Besides, I tried once, but couldn't figure out how to do it. ;)

It helps us to quickly identify who you are and in all honesty makes you look like a legit poster.

I don't really have a problem with "absentee ownership" in this case. We aren't talking about a small business. This team has decision makers HERE and the owner is only called upon every once in a while.

That's why he has the Front Office. They are the real decision makers, not him. He must rely on his "managers" to inform him of what he doesn't know.

Nah, the owner doesn't need to live here, in my opinion.

I felt Bud was out-of-touch because of his distance from Nashville the last few years.

You really want to know what's going on with your fan base, screw polls directed by the team and spend some time talking to them out in public. I guarantee if an owner hears about how his team sucks every time he steps out the door, he'll be more inclined to produce a winner.

I don't know that he was clueless. He was just blind in love with Vince and simply would not listen to reason until it was too late.

It's not as much about the decision making, indeed that should be primarily formulated and executed by the front office. It is more about creating a sense of accountability and urgency. Do you think Robert Kraft would be content to sit in an office 600 miles away and say call me if you think there's anything I should know? No, he's hands on in an intelligent way.
