But you have high expectations of a first year coach making the playoffs next year with this team?

I'd have "higher" expectations. Another season of Munchak means another season that Locker is assured to be the QB and another season of an inferior coaching staff. Let's not forget that Gregg Williams has one more game on his contract while Gray will definitely be here next year. Same with Loggains.

We ain't doin' **** in that scenario.

Changing HC's does not mean the team is then destined to suffer a four win 2014. In fact, the team could do better than say, six wins. That would be a nice change.....

C'mon son. You'll be all over Titans football if they come out winning out of the gate next year. Even if Munchak is still the coach.

I can't see Webster tipping their hand before Monday. He had to say what he did during the interview. I think Tommy saying Webster was safe but not doing the same for Munchak is significant. I believe Tommy has been gathering facts and will make an assessment and decision early next week. I believe the organization understands they are getting hit in the pocketbook by the fans staying away and the lost revenue more than offsets the last year of Munchak's contract.

The only way they keep Munchak is if they convince themselves they are almost there and don't want to start over with another regime. Probably a hard reality to face for the organization.

The biggest problem is lack of talent on the field and in the coaching staff. Too many busts over the past seven years in the first and second rounds. Too many under-qualified coaches trying to "coach up" inferior talent. This is going to take time to fix and the longer they maintain the status quo the longer it is going to take for positive results. The decision, or lack thereof, on Monday will tell a lot about the new direction of the organization.

I don't know why I expected any different from this organization.

They will never win a championship. It is just whatever.

    Yay another year of nothing.

You still cannot hide the fact he is 2-20 vs winning teams and 5-12 vs the AFC SOUTH, and he seems to lose to weak teams 0-13 Colts, 0-8 Jags which really kill the season. The FO spent over 100 mil on free agency and we still suck. WOW.

    Your right though.

YES, lets be honest, if we had another coach in Munch's first year (9-7), he or she would have found a way to beat the 0-13 Colts.

I agree my expectations would be "higher" but I definitely don't think we would be a lock for a playoff spot just because of a new coach. They would be higher, but they aren't going to be high regardless.

    But it would add excitement.

You know the problem is that things actually can get worse. I'd hate to see us fire Munch and miss on every top coach we want, then settle on someone and that person end up sucking. But I'd rather try to get a new coach than not try this offseason, just going to be a hard market with up to 9 possible openings.

I won't be surprised if Munch is back. However, I wouldn't put too much stock into Ruston's comments. What the heck do you expect him to say? "Munch sucks and I want him replaced"?

The season is still underway. Management is going to support the head coach, at least publicly.
