I sure hope we really do things in accordance to our 1st year Strong Safety, who is also currently set to be a free agent. Why did anyone care what he thinks for even a second? Last I checked, it took more than one season of being "loudest talker on the team" to be considered the mouthpiece for the players.. or is this locker room really that rudderless?

He played strong this year. Not perfectly, but a hard hitter.. But he really talks too much for a player who had been a member of the franchise for about 10 months or so.

I have honestly never heard of such.

This is not like Bulluck talking about the Fisher regime (which I wished he would have shut up as well.) But at least he earned the right to talk with years of strong play.

Who before Pollard came in actually showed leadership skills to take this team to that level? Pollard became that added factor that this team hasn't had since the departure of Bulluck. By no means am I comparing the level of play between the two, but that leadership, hold you accountable for your actions and call you out for mistakes trait hasn't been with this organization in years...

Although only with the team for ten months, he was more of a voice than any of the reigning players we had.

It's easy. Follow forum rules and don't say anything stupid and you'll be just fine.

To me, it just seems like an attention hog who likes to talk to the media. there is a difference between that and a team leader, IMO.

Considering he was on a 1 year deal, I think he should be more concerned about his own career than that of a franchise he may not be with next year.

I understand he's one of the last of a dying breed of headhunters in the NFL.. he may as well try and make waves while he can.

Pollard mentioned that having 2 guys wanting to run the D made it difficult. I seem to recall he also mentioned GW was sort of running show the first couple weeks and then stepped back to not step on Grays' toes. That's when our D dropped a bit.

I think Pollard was more eluding to having a DC and that's it, which personally I hope is Williams.

Does GW still have a job or was he let go with everyone?

There is absolutely a difference between a media junkie and a team leader. I don't feel he is a media junkie, I think he just more or less knows what he wants to do. Last year without him our defense was flat, emotionless, and a site for sore eyes. This year they played with emotion, although played flat at times (mainly during crucial situations). While the two biggest differences being the addition of an outspoken Pollard and the addition of a fiery Williams. Which one made the biggest impact who knows

all the players loved munch or at the very least had a great deal of respect for him. he was a better player than all of our current players and that in itself earns respect from nfl players.
