Who will take the bait?

    Apparently Houston Texans owner Bob McNair is letting it be known he's loves South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
    But with All-World DT J.J. Watt entering a contract year, does Houston want to tie up a ton of money in 2 players? They already fumbled the Mario Williams project. If taken No.1 by Houston Clowney would be expected to make roughly $22M in his first 4 seasons. But Im calling their bluff on this one. IMO the Texans are trying to drive up Clowney's stock so they can move back a few spots, collect picks, spend less money, and field a better team in 2014.

    But who's going to be the sucker team that falls for this?

    How did they fumble the Mario Williams project?? They got great production out of him and then let him leave right before he sucked. Sounds like they scored a touchdown with it.

    Mario Williams had 13 sacks this year. Making him #4 in the league. Titans really should have sprung for him.

    Our highest sack total DE was Derrick morgan with 6 sacks. less than half. That makes him tied for 52nd in the league. Not getting MW and overpaying for Wimbley is a crushing defeat.

    After that, Is Pitotua with 4. making him tied for 99th in the league.

    We have 2 DEs in the top 100 in sacks for 2013. None in the top 50. pretty horrible.


    Thank God for Jurrell Casey, or our DL would be a total black hole for sacks.


    Mario Williams got as many sacks as our entire DE corps combined. 13.

    So yes, the Texans flubbed by letting him go. And we flubbed by letting him sign elsewhere.

    They tried to turn him into a LB dude, they screwed him up a little bit.

    But thats besides the point. This thread is not about him, but about Houston trying to stock pile picks.

    Me too.. I hope they get him or Clowney off the board, so it opens up one of the more legit QB options up to us at 11.

    Every year they predict a lot of QBs off the board in the 1st.. but it seems like a lot of years, quite a few fall further than expected.

    I completely agree. I am not impressed with Derek Carr. He has potential, but I don't think he is a top 10 pick or even a 1st rounder.
