Nope, hordes of articles have come out saying that PIT will finally let him interview. I'd take a chance on Butler, he's been learning from the very best in LeBeau for awhile now. There are very few defensive minds I respect more than that man in PIT.

Sure Ray's proven and also a pupil of LeBeau and I wouldn't mind him don't get me wrong, but damn, I'd like to take a chance on Butler. The horde of LBs he's developed and helped in PIT is great and I know he'll 'bring it' just like LeBeau does. Also, the fact they want to give him the reins there only speaks volumes to what they think of him.

Ken knows both well from his time in PIT, and time and time again, he's gone after Butler. Something tells me this guy is going to be good. Also, you guys keep saying 'we want a proven DC' - me, I'd be willing to take a chance on a new guy who could turn out to be down right amazing (and at worst, good) vs Ray who is just probably good.

My only concern is that Keith will want to run only a 3-4 and I really like the idea of running both a 4-3 and 3-4 as Ken said in his interview. I think just like you change it up on O, doing it on D can really help keep opponents guessing.

Butler got my vote when this thread started and he's still got it - ESP b/c they are allowing him to interview now. TRUST YOUR GUT WHIZ, GET US KEITH!!

    Want Butler. Probably get Horton.
It's a win either way in my opinion.

Wonder why a decision hasn't been made yet on OC or DC?

Horton is the safer bet because of his experience.

It's a hard pick. We don't know the ceiling on Butler just yet. Maybe he just specializes in getting the best out of LB's and only LB's.

If he can coach up the whole defense like he can those LB's, then I would make him my head coach ASAP, even though he looks like a serial killer.

Now my naivete may be showing but doesn't " top 10 in yards but 23rd in POINTS given up!" just scream "having to constantly a defend a really short field"? We all know just how bad Cleveland's offense was this year and even the best defenses when put with their back to the end zone over and over again will eventually end up giving up some points. My point is, how can we unequivocally put that stat line on Horton?

No 40+ year old man should rock braided cornrows. Ever.

    Just ask Jerry Rice.
