Lucky for me (I guess) my wife hates football. So I would totally be going with probably a crazy fan on here. If the game is in Atlanta, New Orleans, Arizona, New Jersey (hope not) or Dallas, then I already have a place to stay.

Yea, travel cost would suck on top of the ticket price. If its any city within like 6 hours of driving, I would just do that. Otherwise guess I got to find a cheap red eye flight maybe a few days early.

Meh. I suppose I could just as easily say this thread separates the idiots from the non-idiots. Take out a loan? Sell a kidney? Sell a kid? LOL... okay then.

Perhaps people like you and JCBRAVE are more "crazy diehard" than me. And that's fine by me. But to put the people who aren't willing to go into debt and/or sell a vital organ in the "casual supporter" category is simply ridiculous.

Besides, I have a very strong feeling that many/most of the people who are screaming "I'LL BE THERE WHATEVER THE COST" will be right here with the rest of us when that day comes, chatting away in the Gameday: Super Bowl Edition Thread.

My recliner is free and the drinks are half to 25% the cost at the SB.

IF, somehow I had god like powers and could control the outcome of the Titans winning a Super Bowl. Then I would probably be doing more with my life than worrying about going to a game or not or the cost of a ticket. Lets be realistic here. Me going to jail wouldnt affect the outcome of anything unless it was to keep someone else out of jail.

If I ever met a Titans fan who was so crazy about them that they paid to travel and see ALL their games, both home and away each season. Then clearly without a doubt that person would be a WAY bigger fan than me or anyone else I know. Good for them. Am I mad at them for choosing to spend their time or money that way. Nope, but I can totally accept them being a bigger fan than me because well, they proved it.

There are many ways to show how much you are a fan of something. Just because one person is more of a fan than another person doesnt make the lesser fan not a fan at all. I am a Preds fan too, but I am not as big of a fan as my friends who have season tickets and go to 40+ home games a year. Even if I had the money and time to go to that many Preds games, I wouldnt do it. Just dont enjoy them THAT much. But I am still a Preds fan.

    No, this is false logic.

You are missing the FACT that some people prefer to watch it at home regardless of cost. People are buying into this idea that the amount of $ spent makes you a bigger/better fan, when it is not true.

I would love to meet someone who would say home is better than live when they sit 4 rows from the field have gone to all of them during a winning season. The level of emotion from the fans at a home game can't be compared to a TV screen with like a few random friends.

I have enjoyed many many games at home for 30 years. But there is NOOOOOO comparing it to being there in person. I would have gone to jail if that meant I wouldnt have missed the Music City Miracle

And its not the money, if you can find free or cheap tix, stay with friends, ride with friends, who cares. Its the fact that inperson for sports is better than at home (unless the game is outdoors in freezing temps)

Well I am here, and I am saying I would enjoy watching it from home/bar as it stands. I just cannot imagine, with the way it is currently set up, that I would enjoy it anymore.

    Exactly.

Also, that kind of logic fails to take into account the discretionary income of each individual. E.G. I know a guy who is literally a millionaire. He has awesome club-level PSLs (x4). He attends most games. Yet every time I talk with him about the team, it's abundantly clear I'm about 50x more knowledgeable and invested than him. He couldn't even come close to naming every starter if you asked him. But he spends ungodly amounts of money every year attending Titans games.

I on the other hand, have not attended a game since we played the Lions early in the 2012 season. I haven't spent one dime on this team since then. But I'm still extremely emotionally invested in the team and spend countless hours each week chatting away on a Titans forum when I should be doing something actually productive with my time.

So is that guy a bigger/better fan than me? The only way in which he's more invested in this team than me is financially. And he kinda sorta has the advantage of being a freaking millionaire.

I've been to three games in my life, due to living out of state since I was 18, and not a single time could I say the person next to me was more informed about the team. I would say that it is that way for most posters here. Its just silly to suggest that I am any less of a fan because my career has taken me outside the state of TN and not let me be able to attend games. Hell, its all I can do to get time free on Sundays.
