Is this the final time we see Alterraun Verner as a Titan?

I agree. I think if we can keep the secondary together that would really allow the new defensive scheme to gel much faster. Unfortunately you do have to worry about the economics of it all.

 

Imo verner is gone. Blidi and cody were drafted to replace him, he is def gonna get overpaid by whoever signs him because of the year he had. The only ways I see him coming back is with the tag or after he tests the market and finds his value isn't that high. I don't see either of these happening.

 

Someone will offer him more than the Titans will be willing to spend. They shouldn't have signed Griffin to that huge contract... You can't pay everyone big money, and like someone pointed out, they've already paid pretty high in the secondary.

 

I still think we should tag Verner but it hasn't happened by now it is not going to and he will be gone by march 11th which is the first day of free agency.

 

The salary is projected to be $130 this year $4 more then everyone thought. If we make smart moves by cutting some dead weight with that extra money this year it could be a possibility to retain Verner. However, Sensabaugh has done an alright job at the Nickel and I would like to see what Blidi can do.

 

I REALLY don't see him coming back. I think they are going to use these young guys behind him and start over fresh...He will get offered a ton somewhere else without a doubt.

 

Starting to look like Verner will be gone IMO. They like Blidi & Coty. But with the cap going up, and how easy it is for us to create space (Stewart, CJ & Stevens at least), Verner should be retained man.

 

Of course he believe's he's a #1 CB. He pretty much played like one, and certainly won't lack confidence in his ability.
