The Nashville Tennessean reports the Titans are gauging trade interest for Chris Johnson.
The Titans are unlikely to find any trade partners considering Johnson still has three years remaining on his six-year, $55.26 million contract and is owed $8 million next season. Johnson finished with just 1,077 yards and a career-low 3.86 YPC in 2013 and remains a candidate to be designated as a post June 1 cut.

    UPDATE:

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports Chris Johnson is now willing to rework his contract to expedite a trade out of Nashville.
Johnson knows he's on the brink of being released, and teams are going to run out of money before he hits the market with all of the signings going on. If he redoes his deal and gets dealt, he'll have a chance at a bigger 2014 payday. We still expect he'll be cut, but this at least helps the chances of Tennessee getting back some compensation, very likely a late-round draft pick.

The Nashville Tennessean reports the Titans are still shopping Chris Johnson, and that there's "some interest around the league."
Interest has undoubtedly increased since CJ?K said he was willing to redo his contract, but the odds of a trade are still remote. Johnson is due $8 million, and would likely have to be comfortable dropping that number down to $2-$3 million. Release remains the most likely scenario.

A source tells ProFootballTalk that Chris Johnson is attracting "real interest" from multiple teams on the trade market.
Johnson is willing to take a small pay cut on his scheduled $8 million 2014 base salary if he's dealt to a place of his liking. PFT notes that because the Titans owe the artist formerly known as CJ2K no guarantees or bonuses, there's no real sense of urgency. The Titans can bide their time and try to squeeze out a late-round pick closer to the draft, which is 50 days away. We still find it hard to see a team giving up an asset and also paying a running back that averaged 3.86 YPC last season.

The Arizona Republic reports the Cardinals have "no interest" in Chris Johnson or Maurice Jones-Drew.
The Cardinals could possibly be in the market for an early-down back if they don't want Andre Ellington handling a full load. The other NFL-caliber running backs on the roster are Stepfan Taylor, Jonathan Dwyer, and Ryan Williams. MJD is currently visiting the Steelers, while the Titans are looking to deal CJ2K.
ESPN's Ed Werder says it doesn't appear the Rams are interested in trading for Chris Johnson.
Johnson is going to get linked to the Rams because of Jeff Fisher's presence and mediocre talent behind Zac Stacy. But executing a trade would mean paying Johnson a large chunk of his scheduled $8 million salary, which wouldn't make sense for a single team in the league. Still, multiple reports insist the Titans do have a trade market for CJ2K -- we just don't know where it's coming from.

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt dodged questions about Chris Johnson's status on Tuesday.
"There's not a timetable on doing it," Whiz said. "We're trying to do what's best for the team. ... We're certainly sensitive to try and resolve this whole deal sooner than later." The Titans have left Johnson twisting in the wind long enough that there's little money left in free agency. They're still holding out hope for a trade, but it's not going to happen. It's time for the sides to go their separate ways.

The Nashville Tennessean's Jim Wyatt expects Chris Johnson to eventually land with the Falcons.
Johnson could form an aging one-two punch with Steven Jackson in Atlanta. Wyatt doesn't say whether he expects Johnson to be traded to the Falcons, or sign with them after getting cut, but he's a highly reliable beat reporter and we'd take his projection seriously. It would be a tough spot for CJ?K's fantasy outlook due to the presence of Jackson and a weak offensive line.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Titans are "very likely" to release Chris Johnson next week.
La Canfora expects Johnson to draw "strong interest" in free agency. The Nashville Tennessean's Jim Wyatt anticipates the Falcons being in the running for Johnson. Johnson turns 29 in September and averaged a career-worst 3.9 YPC despite Tennessee pumping major funds and a top-ten pick (Chance Warmack) into its offensive line. He'll likely be a change-of-pace back on his next team.

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini believes the Jets will pursue Chris Johnson when he is released from the Titans.
Cimini does not know if Johnson would accept the committee role he would be given in New York, but he certainly fits the speed back mold the Jets are looking for to complement Chris Ivory. Johnson may be looking for more than a committee role, but that will be all he is likely to find in free agency. The Falcons have also been strongly linked with CJ?K.

It could be likely if the can negotiate a trade with a team on the condition that CJ also negotiates a contract restructure. Could be beneficial for both sides and save some headache. You never know.
