His 9.5 guarantee means he can be a two year guy and gone after... No big deal.

He doesn't do anything to make me like the pick up but it allows us freedom in the draft.

 

You know as well as I do that if we had a legit shot at signing Manning I wouldn't be complaining about us wasting our time. We didn't have a legit shot at Manning and the FO knew it but was overruled by a desperate Bud Adams. I'd much rather set our sights on guys that we can actually get rather than swing and miss at big names who scoff at the mere notion of coming to Tennessee and end up with nothing to show for it. And btw, I rarely complain about anything we do and am one of the more optimistic people on the board so you might want to direct your complaining about complainers elsewhere.

They individually watch every piece of film and unbiasedly grade each individual player on their performance.

There's no putting stock into it, they see how everyone does week in and week out and grade them accordingly.

Yes. And they grade them according to their algorithms (also there is the human judgment/error factor). If I watched every game and made up my own algorithms would I too be an unquestionable expert whose ratings should be taken as absolute truth?

Look, I'm not saying they should be completely discounted. I'm not even necessarily saying they should not be used as a part of the equation when evaluating/discussing talent. But too many people go around acting like PFF is the definitive gospel when it comes to evaluating NFL talent. Again, I'll trust our FO/coaching staff more so than the stat nerds over at PFF. If Michael Oher was truly the worst run blocking RT in the NFL I highly doubt we would've signed him.
