Texans sign Ryan Fitzpatrick LOL

I still think fitz is better than whitehurt. Texans will draft a qb with fitz as the back up, actually makes sense to me. If they take bortles it could work out for them.

Exactly.I actually looked at and studied a list of the QB's taken in the last ten years and the odds are very small of anyone drafted in the fifth,sixth or seventh rounds ever being a starter.

 

There have been more failures with QBs taken in the top ten than thete has been success stories of QBs taken in late rounds...so y waste a pick on hopes and dreams? Take a lock.

Locker wasn't a lock and there isn't any Andrew Lucks in this draft so if Tennessee is even considering a qb in the first round it would show why this team can't put together winning seasons consecutively.

Personally there are very few QBs who should even be taken in the first round of drafts...but teams say OMG we need a franchise QB so teams reach every year for bums...

like I said there's no locks at the quarterback position so would you rather take a quarterback in the first round hoping and praying he pans out or would you rather take one in the fourth round with no expectations and the same probability of the "top" qbs of being good?

in my opinion anyone that takes one of these quarterbacks over Mack or watkins is just stupid

wow I disliked that guy. Got into it a couple of times on air. I dont call those shows anymore.

I only called cause I knew my buddy Mitchell would hear and he would get all fired up about it.

Houston Chronicle's John McClain believes the Texans' recent roster moves indicate they will take a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick.
McClain is a plugged into the Texans as anyone, so his opinion holds a lot of weight. The most likely candidate is UCF QB Blake Bortles. Bortles reportedly showed improved mechanics at his pro day and was impressive leading UCF to a victory of HC Bill O'Brien's Penn State team last season.


Vikings GM Rick Speilman and OC Norv Turner were spotted at Fresno State QB Derek Carr's pro day and have a private workout scheduled for San Jose State QB David Fales.

 

We laugh at the texans for taking fitz but we pick up Whitehurst, who has the last laugh here! REALLY Charlie Fu***** Whitehurst! Dam!

 

He seems like a nice guy but I find him to be a very boring on-air personality. His old evening show on 104.5 was just terrible (have never listened to his new one on the other station). Only reason I'd tune in was for the weekly John McClain segment.

 

There's definitely something to be said for actual game experience. Whitehurst hasn't thrown a regular season pass since 2011. And I'm not sure if he's ever even started a game. You definitely wouldn't want Fitz as your full-time starter. But I also don't think he's as bad as many around here make him out to be. He completed more passes last season than Whitehurst has his entire 8 year career. I'll take Fitz any day of the week, just on experience alone.

That said I'm not going to sit here and be mad about who our backup QB is. Whis knows this guy better than any of us so maybe he's on to something the rest of us aren't privy to.
