Nobody knows exactly what role Morgan is going to play in our defense this year. The only thing for certain is that he doesn't seem to be an ideal fit. He is too small to be an every down DE in the 3/4 and yet he might not have the agility needed to play OLber.

So does this make Morgan a guy that could possibly get traded on draft day? and if so then what sort of pick could we get for him?

It is impossible to trade guys with large salaries, but Morgan is a young guy with 2 yrs left on a cheap rookie deal. I think he would be very attractive for a 4-3 team looking for a solid starter/great depth at DE.

So what rnd draft pick would you be willing to take to trade Morgan?

He was our first round pick- played reasonable when healthy.

I'd entertain 3rd round picks, definitely send for a 2nd.

I think anytime you transition from one system to another everyone becomes movable.

Jacksonville could be a trade partner, he shines every time he sees them, they're well aware of his skill-set.

We need to find a way to get a third round pick in this draft because that is where we should take the best rb available is in round 3

I really like Morgan, but we seem to be flush with pass rushers in our new system. I would take a 3rd for him, but I doubt we get that offer. I think we hold on to him and use him in 4-3 sets in our hybrid defense.

I think it would be dumb to dump him this year. Lets find out how he does first. I seem to remember he dropped a bunch of weight this past year so maybe we tell him to put it back on? Or potentially drop more to be OLB. Either way dumping him now for peanuts doesnt make sense. He doesn't even cost us anything.

Am I way off or do I remember Morgan playing at like 285-290ish a few seasons ago?

I like looking back and see how that draft year turned out...we drafted Morgan over Lamar Houston, Demaryius Thomas and TJ Ward.

I don't think he was ever that big. I think he was 270ish for a while though. I'd rather see him drop weight and play OLB then gain to play 3 tech.

I wouldn't take a 3rd for Morgan, reason being I've seen us draft too many guys in the 3rd round who turn out to be complete bums. We have a solid player in Morgan.
