there are different versions of the mask as like the one you have posted, they are used alot more in ufc/mma than pro sports from what ive read but it helps those train for if the fight would be in denver like the high altitudes like stated earlier. it gives you a slight advantage in cardio though for a certain amount of time afterwards though

 

Not really. High altitude training helps, but the Kenyans (one tribe in particular) have smaller ankles and calves than anyone else. The lower weight helps them move their legs faster and it doesn't weary them down quite as much.
