According to UrbanLegend3 if the QB aint white then he won't get enough support from the fanbase anyway....

But on a more serious note, I just don't have a lot of faith in Bortles, Bridgewater, or Manziel. I'd rather have Carr or JimmyG but think it makes more sense to take them around 20-25.

I've seen this mentioned on here a few times and I feel like I need to clear up some possible confusion. Just because Locker's current contract (his rookie contract) had a $14 million (or whatever the price was) option for next year doesn't mean that 1. If we do resign him, we have to pay him that much, he could agree to a lower amount on a future deal. and 2. Doesn't mean we can't sign him to a longer contract if he plays well this year.

Trade coming with Browns, we move down to 26 to take Jimmy G they move to 11 for Carr...we pick up extra picks.

Anyone that drafts Carr will be willing to sign his brother David as back-up, that's not us.

Honestly, we already have 2 bum QB's in Whitehurst and Wilson, and Locker has struggled with injuries. We can't afford to get another bum QB, I see us drafting one at 11.

I am all for Bridgewater if there. He already ran a pro style offense and also operated under center and not just from shotgun. He knows how to read defenses and shows great poise in the pocket and under duress from the blitz. Pretty much he is a little more athletic Drew Brees. He makes the right reads and keeps the chains moving. May not have elite arm strength but can get the ball downfield. There is not a team that needs a QB that is going to pass them up in the first 10 picks only to trade a crapload of picks to move back into the first round and take them at 11. Might as well forget about that trade scenario.

I know people want Locker to be the guy but I haven't seen anything to make me believe that he can be anything more than a game manager at best. He is a hard worker and probably a great guy but he can't read the defense, he takes unnecessary hits, and makes poor decisions when blitzed. Also he gets injured entirely too much. He has had a couple of good games but a lot more bad games.

No coach coming into a new team unless he already has an elite QB is going to go with the incumbent QB that often. If you win then you win with what you bring in and if you lose at least it was with your guy. Teams usually hire new coaches for a reason and it is usually because the old coach did not have a good QB. Locker will be given every chance to start this season but you need to have insurance so when Locker gets injured in week 6 you have a QB that has already started learning the system and can come in and be effective and be fully ready by next season to fully run the new offense. If by some miracle that Locker comes out and plays like Rodgers then you sign him to a long term deal and keep your insurance QB or trade him for picks later.

I like what I saw on tape. Such poise, good decision making, accurate. Worried he lacks a "killer or clutch instinct" though. With his schedule, he should have "wow'ed" a little more. I wouldn't be pissed if we picked him, but I'm not sold.

this whole "trade back and draft Garropolo in the 1st" thing needs to end. I like Garropolo, but his appeal is that he's a talent that WON'T cost us a first round pick.
