Lovie Smith recently was named the new head coach in Tampa Bay.One of the first things he did was bring in his own QB McCown who was from Chicago just like Smith. There are reports that Glennon could be expendable with the new regime in Tampa. So honestly what would it hurt to give Mike Glennon a chance here if the opportunity presents itself after all he is better than anything we have on the roster at QB right now including Locker.

Glennon comes from N.C. State and recent QB's who came from there include Russell Wilson and Philip Rivers as well.I think Glennon will be as successful as Wilson and Rivers.Hes 6'7 with a big arm and his coaching staff was Matt Ryan's staff in college & they said he was every bit the prospect Ryan was & they were shocked he wasn't a high 1st rounder. He ended getting picked in the third round by Tampa Bay in 2013.The crazy thing about Glennon is he put up with a lot of adversity including the mess going on with Coach Schiano and nothing to work with on offense and still threw for a 83.9 passer rating, completing 59.4 percent of his passes (247 of 416) for 2,608 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He would set a rookie record by throwing a touchdown in each of his first 8 starts to start a career.

Some highlights from the 2013 season include.....

Glennon and the Bucs were massive underdogs coming into their game with the 7–1 Seahawks in week nine who were at the time undefeated at home. Despite the odds, the Bucs jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the second quarter, led by two touchdown passes by Glennon. Holding a 24-7 lead late in the third quarter, Glennon and the Bucs looked well on their way to their first win of the 2013 season. However, the Seahawks mounted a 20-point comeback, capped off by a game-winning field goal in overtime. He completed 17 of 23 passes for 168 yards, 2 TD and 0 INT against the Seahawks number one defense on the road.

In his second start vs Philadelphia completing 26 of 43 passes for 273 yards, 2 TD, and only 1 INT

In Week 7 against Atlanta he completed 26 of 44 passes for 256 yards and 2 TD,0 INT

At Carolina Week 8 he completed 30 of 51 passes for 275 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT

Week 11 he would complete 20 of 23 passes for 231 yards, 2 TD and 0 INT winning 41-28 as he completed 80 percent of his passes.

In Week 12 he completed 14 of 21 passes for 247 yards, 2 TD and 0 INT winning 24-21 against Detroit garnering a 138 passer rating and winning his third straight game.

Week 15 against a tough 49ers team he completed 18 of 34 passes for 179 yards throwing 2 TD and 1 INT

Final week of season at New Orleans completed 22 of 41 passes for 219 yards, 2 TD and an INT

We roll with Jake, Whitehurst, and Wilson. If we get another QB, it will be in the draft. FA for us is pretty much over with till June 1st cuts.

If we were to Tampa's QB leftovers, I'd rather have Freeman.

I'm gonna disagree with most of you.

I think Glennon is much better than you guys are giving him credit for, and the Buccaneers are crazy for not giving him the chance to continue his development.

Glennon had basically no coach (Schiano), no running back (Doug Martin was on IR for most of the year), no offensive line (injuries and MRSA) and only Vincent Jackson as a viable threat in the passing game last season, yet he completed 247-of-416 passes (59.3 percent) for 2,608 yards (6.2 YPA) and a 19:9 TD:INT ratio in 13 starts.

Some more reading on Glennon if you're interested: http://subscribers.footballguys.com/apps/article.php?article=MikeGlennonInDepth

If the Bucs draft a QB and Glennon can be had for cheap via trade, I would be interested in him. In no way am I saying he is the next superstar QB (so don't quote me as if I am), but he showed a lot of promise. He should at least get the chance to start for an NFL team.

To say that you would rather have Freeman is just stupid.

Cool...let's have another mediocre qb for the next 5 years to see if he's "The One"

For the guy to play reasonably well after the drama Tampa went through, he most definitely could turn into something. He kept that team from turning into a total dumpster fire.

Biggest question mark and issue is his arm, big guy put I wanna say he was only in the low 50's speed wise. Like 52 or something low.

    Correction. 49

Yeah because we all know about that NFL rules that says you have to stick with a starting QB for 5 years. They should really change that rule!

All I'm saying is the Titans could offer the Bucs a conditional late-round pick if they aren't sold on Locker (or if he gets hurt again) and would like to get a one-year look at Glennon.
