Idk twice the runner. Wilson uses it tactically. Kaep uses it as a crutch.

I've seen so many running QBs... That I just pause on my evaluation of them, I consider what the ceiling is. Wilson IMO isn't a running QB. Rg3 is a running QB... Where'd he quickly land?

Manziel was tagged enough in college to gather some injuries... He's not CJ and he actually isn't that fast if you consider his 40.

The kid is erratic to say the least. Compare him to Vick... While he had a splash early... It just didn't last, like most dual threats.

I think he is twice the runner. Either way they both ran about the same amount and some were designed some were broken plays. RG3 was used quite often as a read option guy plus he has this disdain for sliding and going out of bounds. He would have ended his rookie year with a knee sprain not a torn ACL if it wasn't for the coaching staff letting him play through it.

Of course he isn't CJ I never compared their speed I compared their builds. CJ is as durable as it gets for a RB and he is considered undersized. Johnny had a few bumps mainly his thumb but he played through it. He is slippery enough that he doesn't get completely obliterated when he does run. Couple that with teaching him to get out of bounds and slide and he can certainly have a long and generally healthy career.

Glad someone else sees it. Clean pocket, and you're like what the hell is he doing?

Aaron Murray is my guy at QB. Bet he has a good pro day tomorrow and goes in the 2nd round. His height is slightly concerning, I understand.

Murray is my second favorite guy. I wouldn't hate taking him round 2.

"Murray is the equivalent of Graham Harrell, Colt Brennan, and Kellen Moore though. They're similar size. Thus they are the same. You're an idiot for thinking Murray will be any better than a 7th round (or UDFA) 3rd string QB. McCarron is so much better because he's three inches taller and won championships."

I've always been from the school of thought that you build a team with as many "pile jumpers" as you can (baseball term) possibly find...Or for football I guess it would be trophy hoisters/gatorade dumpers/etc....Get 53 guys you can see hoisting the lombardi in early February. Manziel I can see doing that, Locker/Bridgewater/Bortles I just can't see it.

Bortles is absolutely nothing like Gabbert. Gabbert's completion % were always lower than Bortles and his yards per completion was embarrassing low at just over 10yds per completion. Borltes avg per completion was 13.8.

It says something when you are actually throwing the ball down field and have a higher completion %.

I have a hard time evaluating QBs, but one thing I can say is this years class has some pretty solid statistics.

What do all these guys have in common...Mettenberger, Bortles, Manziel, Murray, McCarron, Fales, Bridgewater, and Garoppolo??? Besides having hot girlfriends...

All of these guys have a completion % of over 64% and a yds per completion of over 13.

Very solid numbers....Locker didn't come close to sniffing those sorts of numbers in college.

I did not include Carr because his ypc is quite low at 11.22.

In the past 15 yrs the most QBs taken in the first 3 rnds is 7. So if history is any indication then one of those QBs listed will be available in the 4th rnd.

Unless our #1 ranked QB is on the board, I think we should draft another position in the 1st and use the QB depth to our advantage and grab one in the 2nd rnd. The expectations for the 2nd rnd QB would be that they would be the backup unless they really beat Locker out in camp. But it certainly is Locker's job to lose.

With this strategy we get an impact player in the first and a solid backup QB in the 2nd who could possibly become our franchise QB. None of us really want to have to see Charlie Whitehurst on the field this yr. His job should be to teach Locker and the rookie the new offensive system and then to run the scout team.
