I know its a need, I'm just not sure its a need at 11.

Its just funny, people are ignoring Gilbert's lack of experience and Barr's is causing him to fall.

This is the kind of stuff we don't know about. You don't know Vern's reasons for leaving so don't act like you do. Vern is getting 6.5 mil a year in Tampa which we could easily afford given our cap space. The only logical reason for letting Vern go is if the FO was worried that he wouldn't turn out to be a solid CB for years to come.

The idea of creating a new hole with the intentions of filling it in the first round of the draft is stupid. That's how other needs go unfixed long term.

You're acting as if we released Verner or something. We wanted him back at the right price. We did try to offer him a deal. He turned it down.

The plan was never "let's get rid of Verner and draft a corner in the first." We lost out on Verner and now it has become a need. It happens to teams every year.

This was factual information I was giving you. He wanted $9mil a year from us. We rightfully turned him down. Then when his market value leveled we tried to jump back in and offer him a fair deal, but he liked the idea of a fresh start in Tampa with Lovie and turned us down.

I think this free agent class, specifically corners, over estimated their worth simply because of how much depth the class had.

Create a mean front 7 and pass rush, and pressure will be greatly reduced for the secondary and BWW/Sens would be fine. I am not opposed to a Safety either. As we are old...That being said, we have so many needs...It really comes down to who is there and BPA

From a cap standpoint it makes plenty of sense to let an expensive player go and fill it with a better player for cheaper and then use the cap savings to sign several FAs instead of just one.

The 11th pick will get a 4 yr deal worth about 13mil. Verner's deal is 4 yrs at 25mil. So would you rather have Verner or Gilbert/Dennard and 12 mil to spend.

Good teams can do that when they don't have a ton of other needs. As it stands we desperately need to upgrade half the team, so our draft picks are that much more valuable. Letting Vern go just arguably creates another need in one of the few positions we were solid at.

That 12 mil to spend figures to 3 mil a year, so given your option I'd resign Vern with our 20 million in cap space and use that draft pick on another need.

I'd rather take Barr, but I'd be ok with Gilbert too. I want to see us get back to being a front seven that qb's fear. A team you know is gonna put you in the cold tub.

Front 7 wise... I think we filled our LB needs. At least considering this year. The piece that's still missing is a true NT.

Nix could very well be the guy. Maybe we drop back a few spots and snag him plus that third we lack.

So you agree with me saying that Dennard is better than Gilbert?
