Oh yeah. Forgot about that. Well qb or rb round 2 and 4...I think there's a chance one of the top qbs fall to us in round 2, and there will still be talent at rb in 4

And that is why you draft a QB this yr in the 2nd rnd because of the exceptional depth. You take advantage of having a guy in Locker who is your starter. You let Whitehurst help teach both Locker and the 2nd rnd pick the playbook. If Locker does great this yr then you sign him long term and have your 2nd rnd backup ready for action if/when Locker gets hurt. The Packers had Aaron Rodgers backup Farve for several years and he was a 1st rnder. If Locker proves to not be the franchise QB then you at least have 1 yrs experience with a 2nd rnder under your belt and the option to draft another QB high.

If you don't have a franchise QB then you better keep drafting QBs until you find one. Their is absolutely nothing wrong in having 2 good QBs on your team.

2 completely different style Qbs, and To my knowledge Murray has not been injury prone like Jake. Only thing they have in common is that they are short.

and to be honest I would trust Aaron Murray coming off a torn ACL to stay healthy over Locker coming back from any injury.

I do not see what the mason hype is. That dude is average as average gets.

O line opens a lane for about 4 yards down field... Mason gets 4 yards, o line doesn't open up anything... Mason doesn't get anything.

He gets the bare minimum of what he's given and hardly ever anything more.

While it's true that the timing was not ideal, that still does not excuse hiring someone as woefully unqualified as Munch was. Literally every other candidate we interviewed was more qualified. Bud took a major gamble (out of pure desperation IMHO). And to no one's surprise, it didn't work out.

I agree this franchise is heading in the right direction by simply cutting ties with old Fisher heads (Munchak), Oiler players/coaches (Matthews) and selfish players (CJ).

So far I really like Tommy Smith as an owner. He's a no nonsense guy who quickly got fed up with the nepotism, laid back work environment (losing being acceptable).

More so, he doesn't seem much of a meddler. He identified a great coach in Whiz and saw a formidable marriage between Whiz & Webster and he's going to let them do their thing.

Like any new era, it may take time for Whiz & Webster to mold the team to their 100% liking but I expect great results by year 2-3.

Qb's always rode the bench in the past. Some still do. If the 1st round rookie beats him out in training camp then so be it. If he isn't as good then he sits and maybe is our starter next year when Jake could be released. But if Jake Goes on a hot streak, Better for the rookie to sit and learn.

What about his coaching resume implied that he would be a suitable HC candidate? Unless you are some kind of coaching phenom, you don't make the jump directly from O-line coach to head coach, with no coordinating or head coaching experience of any sort.

It was a horrible decision, and most everyone saw it coming from a mile away. Tenure with the organization should mean nothing in the NFL coaching world. It is supposed to be the best 32 head football coaches in the world.

Munchak is not even in the top 200. He had to go back to his role as a stooge elsewhere. No disrespect to him as a person, but as a coach, he is a stooge.
