He does make a pretty legitimate point. Meat from hunted animals is better for you than processed or factory farm meat. Over 70% of the antibiotics in this country goes into live stock because of the deplorable living conditions. Overcrowded, disgusting farms lead to disease among the live stock, which requires antibiotics to just keep them alive. Not only do you eat the meat of sick animals, but it's also pumped full of chemicals to keep them alive long enough to get fat.

Without a doubt one of the better reasons to hunt.

Leaving a carcass behind is irrelevant. You're trying to justify the "fun" factor... doesn't work. Now, back in the day... sure. Hunting for food was a legit practice. Today? Hardly. These people have stocked fridges, and are just trying to shoot something for the "challenge". (it isn't challenging)

I'm very aware of how messed up animal torture is. I'm also aware of how messed up killing any innocent creature is.

I'm not the one to preach to on the subject.

    :)

Here's the difference: You guys kill innocent beings- so you find some sort of justification for YOUR actions. Regardless of how barbaric they are, or how pointless your act of violence is. You're accustomed to it- so it's "OK" in your eyes. You're numb to the act of killing.... as long as it's the way you do it.

BUT... when someone does something a bit more cruel, you act as if they're not human for it. It's funny.

Again... takes a special kind of person to hurt anything that can feel pain.

Once again. I'm not saying they're the same thing. I'm saying both take a messed up individual to do.

Erroneous. I have not hunted a single time in my life. I don't see the point in it. Much like yourself, I have no problem going to the store and buying food(and I think deer tastes terrible). I can just distinguish the difference between torture and hunting.

Hunting gives you a cleaner source of food. It controls animal overpopulation(since man has reduced the amount of natural predators in the wild because they're a danger to us), which helps avoid mass animal starvation.

That happens a lot here. Black bears get it big time. Pelts are sold to England for the royal guard hats. Eurotrash animal rights activists get all bent they are wearing bear skin hats. But they are animals being culled anyway.

Deuce- do you it meat? Never mentioned anything about fun. I do enjoy the outdoors, and I do enjoy hunting. !#$$, I said it was squashed- we should be talking football. Fry- Venison is amazing! Most people who cook it do not remove the silver skin. It is the last barrier between skin and muscle- it is what gives game it's "gamey taste". It is also what makes venison very tough and chewy. Those of us who know remove it. I use venison in place of anything that any average person would use beef, and if I served it to you, I can guarantee you it would be amazing

DW- you have no clue what you are talking about. The deer population in VA has exploded- there are not enough predators or hunters to keep up with them. Forestry management (timbering- mostly pine), has created havens for deer (dense cover and foliage- unlike in a mature forest) Deer density is out of control- also leading to fatalities of human beings on our highways. I have seen farms lay waste to 40 to 50 deer in a week to save their harvest. Disease (hemoragic fever, chronic wasting disease) is rampant. My club works with state game management (Scientists) to level our harvesting each year. Evolution gave me teeth made for tearing flesh------------------I intend and will continue using them for that function.

I think venison tastes really salty. Maybe it was the person who prepared it, but I've had it a couple of times. And this coming from a guy who loves salt.

I've actually stopped eating beef the last few months. I use ground turkey for just about everything I used beef for previously, with exception of spaghetti sauce.

It is quite obvious that some people do not understand the difference between killing an animal (i.e. hunting) and torturing an animal (what Vick did).
You have to be a pretty sick person to cause unbearable pain to a living creature for no purpose whatsoever.

Turkey is very lean- far healthier than red meat. I just took a bird this weekend thankfully. The aforementioned layer is fascia. Venison is not salty-that is on the cook- anyway, got a little perturbed comparing hunting to Vick and his treatment of dogs. Sorry for the rant. I am from his town and watched him in high school. Amazing! Also played AI in a pick up game of 21. Lost 21-4. He simply didn't miss. My 4 pts came off of his jumpers that missed and easy layups. To be in front of talent like that blew my mind! I absolutely love greatness- the next level is truly that, no matter the sport. Amazing athletes- it is unreal. Vick could of been so much more to me.

It is very good. Venison. So mich leaner than beef. Feels cleaner when you eat it. Moose is really good too. Bear though is just terrible. Real tough and greasy.
